ralph nader
Well crap. Ralph Nader has decided to throw his hat into the presidential race. This is no doubt happy news for the Bush campaign, as it will drive votes away from whoever the democratic nominee will be.
Now I know that Ralph Nader has a right to run for office and voice his political opinions, but his campaign could tilt the election toward Bush like it did in 2000.

I actually liked some of Nader's ideas in the 2000 campaign ( I wasnt old enough to vote then) but I was still supported Gore, even if he was the lesser of two evils.
I don't know if I can take 4 more years of George W. Bush.
You will never be famous.
Ralph Nader is a man of principle, he would never be on the 'payroll' of Dubya. I know it's a joke but Nader has done more for this country as an activist then John Kerry and Dubya combined. He stands against NAFTA and the WTO, against the exploitation of thrid world countries by big corporations, against illegal wars, against the slaughtering of innocent civilans by US made weapons, against the death penalty, against the raping of our environment, and against the buying of our elections.
Ralph Nader has earned the respect of many by standing for what he believes even when people try to bully him out of politics. The reason they bully is because he is so much better of a person then they are. He makes them all look bad. He is what some strive to be but are to weak to become. If John Kerry had any sense he would bury the hatchet and lead the Democratic party into recognizing Nader's ideals and speaking to his supporters about why a Ralph Nader is neccessary in American Politics. Anyone who has the nerve to blame Ralph Nader for 2000 is a ignorant fool. Gore lost the election by not deserving the votes of those who voted for Nader. If Nader wasn't on the ticket in 2000, I would have abstained from voting for President at all. No candidate automatically deserves votes. They earn them and Gore didn't earn them. Nader do whatever you want, you've earned it.

Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms." Albert Einstein
If the nominee doesn't run a horrible fucking campaign as Gore did in 2000 than there will be no problem. It's not his fault that Kerry is a slimy, amoral Republicrat.
Note: Gore won the 2000 election, he just didn't get the White House. Not Nader's fault he was too big a pussy to contest it.
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.
Bush won Florida by about 500 votes. Nader got 10,000 votes in Florida. If just a handful of Nader supporters had voted for Gore, he would be president. Granted, he wouldn't be a great president, but at least then we wouldn't have gone to war in Iraq.
You will never be famous.
I'm sorry but I would rather vote for a princlpled man the the lesser of two evils. That's just me though. That's why I love democracy everyone is solely responsible for their own vote.

excerpted from "Voting for the Lesser Evil: Howard Zinn swallows his pride" by Jeff Guntzel
...In 2000 he voted for Nader. It was the "good and right" thing to do, he says. I asked him if this time around he was prepared, as many are, to vote for the candidate with the best chance of beating the president.
"Yes. I hate to say it, but yes," he replied.
"That doesn't mean that I would give up on a third party movement," he adds, "but I would give up on a third party presidential candidate. This is one of those rare situations where the lesser of two evils - the difference between one evil and another - is critical enough to justify voting for the lesser evil."

youre such a moron
politicians only lie because theyre trying to get votes or theyre corrupt and theyre doing it for money
nader doesnt get votes or money
please im beggin you guys, if you live in a swing state that could go for either party, please dont vote for Nader. Nobody wants another four years of Bush.
The worst part is if Bush is elected two a second term, the Republicans will always talk about him like he's the greates president ever. The same ways they do about Reagan.
You will never be famous.
I live in Massachusetts, I can vote for Bush and the cumstain still won't come close to winning the state.
P.S. Your anti-Bush pleas would carry more weight without the Chuck Norris avatars.

that was one of the funniest things ive read in weeks
numb fucks who vote for nader are my second-least-favorite people, right behind numb fucks who think Jesus Christ ordained Bush and anointed him President.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
HE WASNT!?!?
This morning Nader officially announced he is going to run, but this time as an independent, not as a Green Party candidate.
and yes, ozymandias, i am aware that Chuck Norris supported Bush. I can always count on you to disagree with anything I say.
You will never be famous.
Yeah, geesh, sorry about that whole "different person, different opinions" thing. I'll try to work on that.
In the meantime, it sounds like some cranky young lady could do with a nap...

Here, Ozymandias, we can agree on this.

I was wrong. Nader actually got around 97,000 votes.
You will never be famous.
and bush had about 90,000 voters illegally blacklisted.
so what's your point?
who cares if bush wins again. kerry's not going to be any better. all he will do is take away all of the negative attention and everyone will go quiet again thinking "hay everything's a-okay now", but that's not the fucking case.
i almost want bush to win again. just cos it's probably the closest we'll ever come to getting 'bad enough' that something actually happens. not that it will get any better, but at this point i just want something to really change.
if i even bother to register, i'll probably vote for nader. i'm in texas, so i'm pretty sure a kerry vote (even if he didn't suck) would be a wasted vote anyway.
FUCK IT! If fuckin Nader can run then so can I. Ahhh who am I kidding... I'd lose to a liberal... fuckers.....

My point is that if Nader didn't run Gore would be president, and we wouldn't have gone to war in Iraq and we wouldn't have such a huge deficit.
Who cares if Bush wins again? I do. No, Kerry isn't Lincoln-reincarnated like some Democrats are making him out to be, but at least he's got a plan so people like me can afford health care.
Kerry has recieved huge contributions from special interests, but he does have plans give incentives to companies who keep their workforce in the US.
Will Kerry fofill all of his campaign promises? I can't say, but I would rather vote for a candidate who is the lesser of two evils than Nader, who will help the retarded version of Hitler get elected again.
And just because things get really really bad, that doesnt mean "something will actually happen."
You will never be famous.
you don't know any of that.
you're just making guesses.
me too.
this topic sucks.
i'm pretty confident that my vote is completely and totally irrelevant.
or nearly so, at least.
which is why i'm probably not going to register at all.
if i do, i might as well vote for nader.
y'know im a little surprised Trypdwyre hasn't added his two cents yet
You will never be famous.
At least I'm confident in Nader's platform. I don't have to guess about the princples of Nader. I know them. I know if Nader were to be elected you wouldn't have to worry about healthcare because it would be provided. I know that huge corporations would start paying thier fair share of taxes. I don't have to guess. And that's reason enough for me to vote for Nader.

I swear Nader is on the Bush payroll....
