I was gonna say "You needed proof?" but Morey got here first.

And King Arthur and Robin Hood were based upon real individuals about whom a great deal of mythology sprung.

Of course, effectively 100% of people believe Christopher Colombus was a real person. (Really, he was two people, neither of whom was named "Christopher Colombus". Nor do they know which one did what.)

But Holocaust deniers aand/or revisionists don't deny the existence of Hitler; they say that he is just misunderstood, and that the actions of a few of his overzealous military are greatly exagerated.

I thought proof that people are retarded was that there are retarded people working at McDonalds. Or that George W Bush got elected President.

What? Please elaborate. I've never heard before that Colombus didn't exist.

i don't know, they change the story of hitler so much that it pretty much makes him non-existant, or at least a very minor playeri n world history. i've seen materials that make Hitler into what Karl Rove is today. it's all part of holocaust denial.

i could be wrong. it could just be mind-numbing ignorance. I just have a hard time believing that any person who has heard of hitler could say they don't know that he was real, unless they have a fascist agenda, or at least have been influenced by a fascist agenda.

hahaha!

And, Robin Hood did exist. That's not to say he isn't a fictional character. He existed in France, where he was a rich man that held parades, giving out free money to the poor. And another man named Robin Hood existed as a thief in England, where Sherwood forest still stands.

Apparantly, the two stories got mixed up, and the thief became a hero.
That's what I understand, anyway. I read a few books about it, and a lot of websites, so this shit isn't definatly true or anything. But I'm pretty sure it is.

The servey shoulda asked if they believed in the Blair Witch Project. I bet the numbers would have went for 70%

haven't heard that.
i have heard there are several documents that name him specifically, specifically one from 1470 that was notarized, his father dominic present also, stating that he was "major annis decemnovem" ("nineteen years old").
also there is a book, the Book of Privileges, which is a collection of agreements between Columbus and the crowns of Spain prepared in Seville in 1502 before his 4th final voyage. and actually the Library of Congress has one of the four original copies on vellum.http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/treasures/tr00.html

but still, those stats are pretty crappy, suicide.
haven't heard that.
Look it up some time. S'interesting...

One of them certainly did come to the Carribean a few times (I've seen his voyages to America counted anywhere from as few as four to as many as nine. Granted, some of those sources were speculative), but it's only guesswork as to which one did it, Christophoro Colubo or Christobal Colon.

One is buried in Spain. One is buried in Potugal.

And one is buried in Italy, but that's a whole different story...

All three countries claim that they have the bones of the man who discovered America. (And contemporary records show that both men claim to have been the one who did just that.)

actually i did, and found absolutely no talk that he was not just just one man, named christopher columbus. actually i was only able to find information on christopher columbus as a singular man by that name.

do you have a source for me to check out?

and they said that they interviewed 2,000 people, so about 20 people actually said that humanity was once, or still is, ruled by apes, and another 20 (could be some of the first 20) think that humans have been defeated by cyborgs?

i wonder if there's a way to put a larger disclaimer on movies that they are FICTIONAL!

on another note, here's some more proof for you:

A Croatian woman calls in bomb threat to airport so she wouldn't have to go on vacation with her boyfriend.
"I didn't know how I would be able to tell my parents about a holiday with him and I couldn't really say to him 'Listen, my parents wouldn't approve'," the woman, 28, identified only as Marina B., told the Duesseldorf state court Wednesday. The threat prompted authorities to shut down Germany's third busiest airport on a busy Sunday in September, stranding 64,000 people for hours, while police searched in vain for a bomb.
