What role does open government play within a democratic society and a democratic government?
This is a question that I have to write an essay on, it has to be less than 500 words, but i'm not looking for someone to write me an essay, I just have no idea where to start, I am severely bad with politics.
If you must write an essay, I will willingly accept it.

Ephemerality rules the world.
I would say something about the intent and will of the people expressed through direct interaction with their elected representatives. As opposed to say, North Korea or Cold War Russia, where the government kinda told you what it was going to do and you didn't ask questions or say anything.
