Milk!?
Did you know that most adult humans are lactose intolerant? This is because when you stop breastfeeding, your body stops producing as much of the enzyme lactase (essential for proper digestion of lactose). In simple terms, milk is for babies.
Adults that consume milk are likely to experience subtle or not so subtle symptoms...
such as:
- increase the risk of bone fractures
- increase in gas
- increase in the production of mucus
- increase in the risk of prostate cancer
- higher cholesteral levels
the list goes on...
There is no nutrient in milk that you cannot find in other foods.
Now the political bit.
You may be thinking: 'But milk must be good, the government tells me to drink it!' (I am British but I know this also applies elsewhere).
My government is not run by nutritionists... I know that much. It is run by Capitalists who make a lot of money outta the HUGE amount of dairy farms there are in the country.
Makes sense?
But hey, if you like milk, go on drinking it.
I don't drink it but I do like a bit o cheese every now and then, I do stop eating this when I have a cough though, as it really does prolong it, thanks to the added phlegm and all...

Wouldn't all the calcium in milk DECREASE the risk in bone fractures?
I'll tell you what tastes suprisingly nice, GOAT MILK.
I am lactose intolerant and I don't consider myself an Adult, yet.
I still drink normal milk, but pay for it, dearly.
I have to go to the bathroom, bye.

''Consumption of milk is reported to increase the risk of bone fractures, due to animal protein's effect on intensifying urinary calcium excretion. It is because of this that milk may in fact contribute to osteoporosis, rather than preventing it as is commonly thought ''

wikipedia is lying, I know that...........

do you belong to PETA also?
I drank like 10 white russians one night and spent the next day, uh, tied up for a lot of the day and was doubled up with cramps. This was no normal hangover.
I don't drink a lot of milk anyway. Never really had a taste for it. Down with the Gov't.
PS your avatar is too cute.
at least tell me chocolate milk is ok
because I'll renounce my citizenship before I give that up
or if nothing else, say YooHoo is alright

No I don't belong to PETA
I'm with you - I drink soya milk. I do have organic milk in my tea because soy milk tastes disgusting in it.
I love cheese and icecream though!
Funny thing, the growth hormone in cows milk is the one that scientists clone to use in lab experiments when they want to speed up the growth of cancer.
This is why, if you smoke AND drink milk, you are very likely to develop cancer sooner and faster.
The most hilarious part, to me, is this. Cow milk is for baby cows. People milk is for baby people. Goat milk is for baby goats. Notice a trend?

okay, so the point is that we shouldn't drink milk, and what instead?

Well if you must have ice cream, get dairy free, if you must have cheese, get dairy free etc.etc.
But really, if you must have it, just don't have it too often. Too many times I'd see people at my 6th form college buying pints of milk and drinking them like they were just bottles of water or something, believing that it was doing them a world of good.

well I don't eat chees too much and I don't even remember when I last time have eaten ice cream, but milk is a basic of cacao that I drink a lot, and soya milk is not so good.
Why everything what is good have to kill me?

are you going to get it tattooed over your actual nipple?
Also... a bit off topic...
It is pointless to aviod things that kill you, becuase there are so many. You are just wasteing your time.
By the way, one of you will die in two years. sorry to say.

who me?
I won't give up drinking milk, people say the water I drink is dangerous and could kill me but I drink it since I was 5 years old and I still live. so milk won't kill me too. and I hate that normal food is replaced with some substitutes, like soya milk, like soya meat, like wtf?

No, I was only kidding about that.
And so what if I'm off topic? Is this prison camp?
off topics are allowed on this forum, only in few places we can't do that.

I wouldn't really call cow's milk 'normal'. I would say that consuming soya beans is more natural than drinking from a cow's udder...

True, many people think it is correct because it is old, but people also thought the world was flat back then, y'know.
And as for 'bean milk', it's the same as juice. You drink juice right? It's called milk because of its colour, opacity and because it's an alternative to cow's milk.

lol... indeed!
It was a dark and stormy night and I heard a thumping at the door.
There stood a cow! On its hind legs, udders flapping in the gale.
'You took milk from my BEBIES!' it mooed, and moved aside to reveal it's malnourished calf!
and from that night, I was traumatised!
I just think she was just obviously raised by milk haters.
Humor is the great thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritations and resentments slip away and a sunny spirit takes their place.

well, milk is one of the basic of my eating habits, damn....it's more dangerous than smoking. maybe I should start to smoke and stop drinking milk?
