Lies, propaganda and fear mongering effective: USA re-elects Big Brother.
I can't believe you fucked it up again.
AGAIN.
I had a feeling this would happen, but I was hoping that with the BLATENT bullshit the GOP was pulling, people would open their eyes and start thinking for themselves.
I suppose I was hoping for too much.
Anyways, here's a few pages from Transmetropolitan, that sums up how I feel right now.

nice art though.

Fuck. I'll make room for you guys when you come up here to dodge the draft.

Fair enough. I say 51% of America needs to be shipped off somewhere far away. Send the troops home, send the idiots in perhaps.
I dunno, the latest numbers I see only 80% of the vote is in and it's 249 Bush 221 Kerry, 270 electoral votes needed for a decisive victory. I've been thinking all along the idiots are going to re-elect Bush, and it seems to be leaning that way, but it ain't over yet. We could still wind up with another fuck up like we had 4 years ago. BTW What's your preference in an assault weapon? AK47 OK?
This is a really good idea.
I can't wait for the "I told you so" from Osama.
I can't wait for the "I told you so" from Osama.
let's keep that one as an afterthought. it's coming no matter who's elected, we've got a national hard-on for insighting global rage with our foreign (or lack of) policy.
our gas prices did drop a good 10 cents a gallon(like 6-7 dollars a barrel) today...
just some food for thought.
well, at least michigan probably can't be blamed.

I'm sending you to Ohio, too bad I still got family there, oh well, if they voted for Bush (which I'm sure they did) they deserve it. It's just like I said 254 Bush to 252 Kerry hanging on Ohio.
This is a really good idea.
I can't wait for the "I told you so" from Osama.
Im pissed cuz the osama tape was revealed ridiculously close to the elections, and all the paranoid america voted for the trigger-happy redneck.
Wow. In Indiana, I knew we were stupid (well, the people I live near in my state - not including me of course) but how could this happen again?! WTF? How could he not get the popular vote last time, fuck up a country, lie, prove himself as a complete idiot on camera (what happened to liking the charismatic one - the one who doesn't look like his bookshelf is filled with illustrated books) and then win the popular vote?! wtf! heh.
anyway. Which is better - Canada or Australia. Australia has all the cute animals but I don't know much about the country itself.
(and no, not just because of the election - I think it would be fun to live in another country)
Yeah, I was thinking of moving out of country for a year or so and I am thinking that sometime during the next 4 years would be ideal. Canada is too cold, Australia too islandy. Europe, maybe? Do you think they will welcome we refugees?
I think it's cool of Kerry to concede and stop wasting tax payers money but... fuck. It was SO CLOSE! Women like Kerry more, and there are more women than men, so if women would just get out and vote we could do whatever we wanted.
well, at least michigan probably can't be blamed.
House me? Please?
I saw a map online somewhere (I don't know the url, sorry) that had New Canada and New US. Most of the New England area and CA were part of New Canada.
I wish.
As a California citizen, I'd like to bring you this public service announcement:
Oh, fuck.
if bush hadn't won, ya'll wouldn't have anything to bitch about, so you should thank him. now you can let even more anger out in a forum on the internet, a forum that won't change anything. good plan.

the thing that pisses me off most is hearing that even CULTISTS voted for bush. here i am thinking i was among intelligent folk
i apologize to everybody. this is all my fault. because i didn't vote. and my vote would have made a difference, everybody tells me so. in a situation that has only two possibilities, making a difference can only mean one thing, ie; the other guy would have won.
i'm seriously considering moving to canada. any of you northerners know which part of canada is closest to Colorado, maybe a small-ish town built on or near some good rustic mountains? i don't mind cold winters and dangerous wild animals. i just want to get the fuck out of this country, i don't like being a citizen of the world's greatest superpower, not when that power is used to fuck with other people elsewhere in the world in the name of "freedom".

i'm trying to decide which is worse
close minded fundamentalist religious zealots
or
close minded sore loserish liberal democrats
much like election night, too close to call
you're probably a non smoker too i'm guessing?
yeah, I mean, if ya'll don't like the US, then move. Canada's close, and if you don't like the cold, there's always Mexico.
You wouldn't be able to rant like this if you didn't live in a "free" country. so piss and moan all you want, but those freedoms you're taking advantage of right now, they were bought at a high price. And not by Democrats or Republicans alone, by Americans.
I just wouldn't want to see the cult turn into a Hate America forum.

i am a non-smoker but my girlfriend smokes and i have no problem if she does it around me. i just don't find it enjoyable.
and i'm not a sore loser by the way. i just know for a fact that if you voted for bush, you're stupid.

see i hate when people say this because it doesn't work like that. first off, moving costs money, money we dont have because we vote for people who don't support raising our minimum wage.
and we WOULD be able to rant like this in another country. that's what is so great about the internet. BUT, because of things like the patriot act we won't be able to rant like this for very long, at least at this rate. if you can be arrested for looking like a terrorist(being middle eastern), i'm sure you can be arrested for talking like one. and THAT is not freedom by the way, it's fear.
i don't see it turning into a "Hate America" forum as much as i've seen it shifting towards an "Hate Anyone That Doesn't Agree With My View" forum
what happened to the tolerant and semi-objective idealogy people like to pretend they have ?
i did get a chuckle out of them announcing the huge push to get younger voters out had no impact at all, that the number of younger voters was just the same as last time

if you don't like the ranting, you move. it's our right to criticize our government. i don't see what the problem with that is. and what's with the "the freedoms were bought at a high price" crap? all of life is a struggle, that doesn't devalue our legal and "god given" right to be critical of our government. if we gave in and were happy-happy-joy-joy with the way things were today, what would we gain? complacency helps little, debate, critiquing, and "pissing and moaning" help fuel progress.
Karb - Re: "i did get a chuckle out of them announcing the huge push to get younger voters out had no impact at all, that the number of younger voters was just the same as last time"
that statement isn't entirely true. the PERCENTAGE remained the same, the NUMBER increased. this year 60ish% of the (eligible) population voted, in 2000 only 51ish% of the eligible population voted. this year almost 120 million people voted, in 2000 there were only 105 million. do the math, it was about 9% were in the 18-24 year range.
9% of (2000's) votes = 9.45 million
9% of (2004's) votes = 10.8 million
a bit of a difference. so why are you acting like it's a good thing to discourage the "young voters" from turning out?

Lets turn this into a Love Canada thread. We got freedoms too, and we didn't pay ANY price for them, they were FREE!
Also, fucking off and leaving is exactly was lead to the creation of your country.

Don't take away the one tiny bit of humour i was able to find in this whole mess !
nothing wrong at all seeing the kids get out there to vote, that was the one thing good that did come out of the election was the long lines
anyway, what struck me funny about the whole situation was the tremendous push i saw from the likes of MTV/Fuse and all the other celebrities going after the kids like hyenas on a zebra with a gimpy knee
last night flipping through my 500 channels i came across MTV's live election night coverage i was laughing my ass off at this, as they were trying to tell everyone how the electoral college worked and trying to hip it up they also showed a few clips from the VMAs this year that was basically nothing more then a rock the vote rally
its just too much like any other ad campaign trying to take some old product that no one really likes anymore and jazz it up with a new label and sell it too the kids as something new and exciting thing and that after all that there really wasn't much of an effect on the turnout
Rock the vote - TO THE EXXXTREME !!!
