Laws punishing young writers
Friday and Saturday, two stories leaked out of two writers being punished for short stories they wrote by their schools and possibly the law.(Links Below) As a writer, and knowing how many writers are on this site these news stories hit home and I felt that I had to do something. In protest I wrote my own short story, and I am asking for all the writers on this site, anyone who believes in the freedom of speech, anyone that believes creativity and imagination should not be limited to please make a stand. Help out these kids already punished and possibly stop it from happening anymore.
Thank you.

Ephemerality rules the world.
That second story's pretty damned scary.
I didn't read anything, but this sounds more like a supervise your child problem than a call on the jackboots problem. Anything with zombies needs to be not taken seriosely.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
That's just fucking stupid. Writing is writing and does not constitute legal action. It amazes me how different schools can be in different parts of the country. My high school was the same kind as the ones these kids go to. On the other hand, I found out last week that my first novel is currently being read by a 12th grade English class in New Jersey. I doubt that there's a chapter in the whole book which wouldn't justify it being banned in most schools. I'm still wondering what the fuck she was thinking when she assigned it. Nevertheless, it does give me hope that there are at least a few teachers out there who can see through objectionable subject matter and appreciate the subtext. If only there were more (I could use the cash).

getting banned can be good PR.
