I"m Voting Bush
I feel bad for the guy... he's like the puppy that lost his way... everybody rags on the guy.
I see democrats everywhere sayin "Vote Kerry"
Where's the Grand Ole Party?
Nowhere.
It's not like he flew a plane into anything.
It's not like he wrote the intelligence reports the said there are WMDs.
He just put his faith in the wrong people.

Fuck Bush. Fuck Kerry. Vote Nader.

i don't think mickey mouse got enough recognition in the last election.
we need more write-ins people.
but seriously, when will people stop all this "your vote counts" and "1 vote can make a difference" crap. you vote doesn't count, not in america. it looks pretty, but it's all just just for show. your vote may have some slight influence over your electoral college reps, but really, their vote's already set usually. it's another illusion of control brought to you by your local misdirecting government.
i remember being a kid and being taught in school that when i turn 18 if i don't vote then i may end up letting the whole country down. week long diatribes on the importance of voting, in-depth tests on political parties, on the process of voting, on the formal tradition of being sworn into office. i also remember the 7.5 minutes spent on the electoral college. the actual "how" of "how a president gets elected". smoke and mirrors. your vote counts for a waste of time spent in the polls. your vote counts for the sticker you get stating that your are so special that you don't grasp the concept that what you just did was only for your own sense of patriotism.
just for xk3zo, just for you...
sooooo....
Your voting for Nader?
You will never be famous.

Sadly, you've still managed to put more thought into this than 99.9% of Bush supporters.
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.
Trypd, I couldn't disagree with you more. How would one get rid of the electoral college? By voting. Guess who wants to get rid of the electoral college that's right -Ralph Nader.
Being completely apathic about elections just because you don't like the retarded system that elects our president is stupid. The only way we can change anything in our country is by voting and trying to get more people to vote.
Unless your calling for a full scale revoltion in that case i'm in but I have to make one quick call to John Ashcroft.

The people in power DON'T WANT YOU TO VOTE. I can't imagine a better reason than that to hit the polls every chance I get.

I'll be voting for Bish as well, but I'm sure some of you have figured that out by now.
And Tryd is right, on a National level our vote counts much less than it should. On a State level it truely does count. As far as I've figured it out, and correct me if I'm wrong, States are run as Democracy and the Nation is run as a Republic. But that's just the way I've been able to figure so far. Could be worng, it's happened a couple of times before.

Dillinger, Why are you voting for Bush?

Er, state goverments are modeled after the national goverment; with a State House, State Senate, State Supreme Court, and a Governor instead of a President. They're all republics as well. Sometimes we get to vote on specific issues, but that's only if the state allows us to do so. Unless you meant something different...
Dillinger, Why are you voting for Bush?
9 times out of 10 I vote Repulican. But I won't vote for "the lesser of two evils", has to be someone I think has the right platforms to get us thru our current problems. And as far as Internationally I think Bush can do that. Nice guy shit isn't gonna work out there anymore, in my opinion. And I could seriously not give a half a shit about what France and Germany think about a damn thing. But I won't go into all that. I disagree with the vast majority of Dem platforms, not that I agree with all Rep platforms but the score leans towards the Republican side right now. And I seriously think that give a chance, with no seriously fucked up shit happening, Bush can and will make a difference for the better. And I don't think that Kerry or Nader can do that. But I need to read up a little more on the Nader platforms to see whats really going on with him.

I was thinking more along the lines of the way votes count. But yeah you are right on that.

OH and for the record, I always expect Ozymandias and trypdwyre to keep my ass in line on Politics in here. And I salute you for that. Don't always agree with you, but that's what makes it worth a shit. If everyone had the same veiw there'd be no point in discussing this kinda shit.

i do vote, i just don't bother to vote when i know my vote doesn't count, aka voting for president. you're right, we can vote to rid ourselves from the electoral college, but until that vote comes up i'm not going to waste my time standing in line at the polls to punch a card for a person when i know for fact that my decision has no impact on what the outcome will be. i do still go vote though, just not for president...
anyway, i'm not going to go vote for nadar because of the simple fact that my vote still doesn't count. besides, i would hate to see what the guy would do if ever he made it into office.
don't get me wrong, i'm all for voting, just not when my vote doesn't count.

indeed, i feel the same way. few things get properly thought out without some amount of disagreement. there are many people on here who offer a good opinion on politics, and without these people, i'd be afraid for this section's survival.
to all of you, you know who you are, thanks, and keep it coming.
Dillinger you make me laugh. Let me repay you by posting this:

"President Bush was out touting his economic record in Ohio last week. Now this is a state that lost 225,000 jobs since Bush took office. If Bush wants to tout his record he should do it somewhere where the Bush economy has actually created jobs, like India or Thailand or China."
"John Kerry said today he wants to debate President Bush once a month. Hey good luck, if Bush couldn't make it to the National Guard once a month, he's not going to show up for this."
it's true. sadly sadly true.
the Declaration of Independence came through my college recently, and before that one of the polysci teachers gave a presentation... he said that the reason politicans dont seem to care about the younger people is because that younger people dont vote, old people do. If more young people voted it would make us recognizable to them. If the 20somethings voted, we'd make them care abhout us. So while our vote may of may not count, the fact that we are makes us noticable to get re-elected.

yeah, you can argue that bush, the man, made bad decisions that were honest mistakes or "put his faith in the wrong people." but that's still not ok. and besides, bush the person is fine with me. it's the bush administration--and the period of mistrust, paranoia, economic degredation, censorship, and, oh yeah, killing soldiers on the basis of a lie and then accusing anyone who disagrees of not supporting those very same soldiers, that they've ushered in--that i have a problem with. it's not all bush's fault, you're absolutely right.
and that's why i don't just want bush out. i want his whole administration out.
