I'm just gonna say it:
I think Hillary Clinton is awful.
I think she plays a dirty game, and in this day and age - and in this country of Politico-sycophants - she's the Champ.
As a result of playing by "the (old) rules" she'll probably win the nomination - but I think she'll win it the wrong way.
How should one respond to this?

By saying this: "(Wright) would not be my pastor."
The fact that this whole Bosnia thing is even debatable as a massive lie is just... beyond comprehension.

There are some astounding articles out there supporting why she should drop out NOW. mainly, she'd have to win all o fthe remaining states in a m,assive landslide, which won't happen. she'd have to beat Obama in PA by a margin of 40%, which won't happen. She'd have to wrangle the nomination on the convention floor, which is horrible for the Dems. She'll spend the next three months givign the republicans ammo to use against Obama, they get to sit back and let her do the dirty work...
It's time for her to let it go. Maybe in 8 years....maybe...
For now? Fired up! Ready to roll! Yes we Can! ETC!
Obama!
A politician lied. Isn't that usually saluted?
That exchange with the girl really reminds me of that scene from Wag the Dog where an Albanian woman gives the President a blanket or something.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."

It's not about lying - it's about calling the other person out for being shady while lying... especially when the other person at least truly seems (and I say that emphatically - SEEMS) to be running a campaign of significant ethical weight.
And I loved Wag the Dog!
I agree with Monkey - she's basically laying out a strategy for McCain's people.
I used to love Ol' Iron Ass McCain, but I really don't anymore - he just seems so... carried. Like at one time, he might have been on it, but now he resembles a decorated puppet, which is truly sad. He was the one politician who said exactly what I felt after 9/11 and now... where's the edge gone? Crabby is not the same as badass. I just can't imagine a lot of improvement in this country with him in the White House, and I find that to be very disappointing.
I'm frickin' tired of "disappointing."

I'd hit it.
Lmao.
You and Bill could get matching jerseys!

Im actually following the US presidential race more than the Irish one. Dang polticians are better liars in the USA.
Hil'liar'y is a woman of many masks.
She actually tried to say that she "mispoke" (read:LIED) about the Bosnia incident due to sleep deprivation.
Yeah, this one time I hadn't slept in two days but I really needed some milk, so I embarked upon an epic quest to the convenient store down the street in which I was forced to outrun bengal tigers, snapping turtles, ostriches, and all sorts of other beasts.
Or maybe I just walked there and nothing happened. I don't remember. I was tired.
"So, uh, after the show, we're going to have a moustache-camaro contest, that's a moustache-camaro contest in the back, so all you young boys with too much energy can show up back there. I'm going to be honest with you, ok? I think, uh, this entire world revolves around honesty and taking risks so I'm just going to go ahead and do that. It were raining someplace and you were there, I wouldn't pay money to come and see you."

As a child, I was convinced that I would eventually face one of the ferocious beasts, head on. Thankfully, I've made it this far and do not anticipate any Mad Snapping Turtle battles.
Close one.
Oh yeah, I guess I'm sort of shocked, regardless of the fact that we are talking about politicians, that no one is just like, "Beat it, LIAR!."

We are the undisputed Heavyweight Champions of the World when it comes to lying!
In this league, sportsmanship is for old liberals and young fools.
All that you said may be true about Hilary but then again look at Obama supporters. I would say a good majority of them have no idea what he stands for.
They'll say "He stands for change!"
Ask them what he's going to change and you'll get the same answer:
I don't know.

Will we have a federal reserve? Sucky taxes? Corporations and banks running Washington? Loss of individual liberty?
Maybe the latter is the only 'change' we'll get from him, taking us from bad to worse. But we see it with any of these assholes running.

I would say the biggest change he's already made is to handle himself with consistency and with an ethical standard - no matter how easy it would be to just dip back into the same old horse and pony show. I'm sick and tired of it, and I'm glad to see someone at least try to run a campaign with some class.
Plus, not so much flat out lying - er, "misspeaking" - about trips to Bosnia.
Obviously, I'm leaning toward his side of the fence. I'll be able to state my full appreciation for his views and his ideas once I'm done with the book. So far... so good.
Second worse thing about many Obama supporters: Attempting to speak in authority about what they do not know.

As if none of the other candidates have a mass of blind followers themselves? At least Obama supporters, for the most part, refrain from making feeble racist attempts at defamation such as "He's a muslim, and therefore a terrorist!", invoking his middle name, etc. I have yet to speak at lengths with any Clinton supporter whose primary reason for supporting her was that they didn't trust Obama due to the untruths spread in Hillary's whisper campaign.
As far as their stances on various problems our country is facing, Clinton and Obama aren't all that different. The difference is in character, where on one hand you have someone who has BEEN CAUGHT lying to us ALREADY versus the other hand, an eloquent and at least seemingly genuine candidate.
I don't know about you, but to me the choice is crystal fucking clear.

I thought bill clinton put the tombstone on "character" for public office?
I'm voting for Nader again. I was almost convinced to take part in the bullshit that is our two party system. Luckily I snapped out of it in time. They are both evil and they have the same plan for the country. Nader may not be the messiah, but he's light years better than either of those assholes. When Bush got reelected I said, "Fuck it. We deserve what we get. If people are that stupid we should be wiped out." Also I think I might have had a small aneurysm. I think the cynicism and the overload of facts in my head reached critical mass. I can't think as clearly as I used to. Fucking lizards. Anyway, haven't we proven that voting for the lesser of two evils gets us nowhere? If we're going nowhere, we might as well vote for the guy who we think might actually make a difference for the better. America is at best a house of cards viewed through a fun house mirror and at worst communist china with a smiley face spray painted in our eyes so we can't tell. We need someone with real convictions who won't cave when the lobbyists come knocking. In lieu of that, I'm voting for Nader. He's the best we've got. I'd also vote for Stephen Colbert, David Icke, Jello Biaffra, Ron Paul, Robert Anton Wilson's corpse (well really any corpse or inanimate object), Chris and or Jerry (friends of mine), Romana (my cat), and (fuck it) Crackhead John (he's the guy who robbed my house a year ago). I'd vote for anybody in the country who isn't a politician over anyone who is. Why not just tell all these CFR, Bildeberger, Club of Rome, Masonic, P2, trilateral cunts to fuck themselves? Politics were invented to bullshit the common man into a state of hopeless confusion. I'd love to see a world where our foreign policy was simple. If you disagree with me, cool. We'll agree to disagree. If you fuck with me I'll kill you. How hard is that?

I'm glad to hear you're not voting for either of the annointed ones, but if you're gonna do a protest vote why do it for whomever you think would be best?
I'm writing in RP, even though I'm an voluntaryist and he's not, but close to it. Nobody with better views I can think of will be recognizable to whoever counts the things.
All write-ins are just counted as 'others', but this year, the 'others' are expected to hit a record high. We won't win, but so? At least we didn't participate in putting one of two evil assholes in office.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
What do you say we all just write in CP? Just for shits and giggles.
I just got my absentee in the mail and decided For President "Ron Paul"
For Vice President, "A. Clean Conscience"
I was considering leaving it blank, but I've got enough blanks on the ballot cause I'm not voting for anyone I don't know, and I don't know anyone in the random elections like treasurer and county selectman and that crap.

I'd hit it.
