Thats how all the presidents wave.

Isn't it amazing how anyone will distort anything to get their view across.

I'm looking at you ‘conscience’ liberal America.

I mean Christ, his arm isn't even stiff like a Hitler arm woody.

Now if he showed up to a Dixie Chicks concert with Laura on a leash I think we would have something.

Well it's a game of polarized extremism.

Conservatives do something extreme and Liberals reply with something extreme. It's suppose to balance, but like two children calling eachother 'poop heads' it just makes everyone out to be a jackass.

Ah. Well, I suggest you try to disregard shit like this as the short-bus fodder that it is,
instead of letting yourself get idealogically pissed.

I'm not pissed, just a little disturbed at how quickly a lot of people are to demonize Bush. It's like the Red Scare, but it's the Bush Scare. Like at any moment Old George H. is going to kick down my door and send me to sit in a dog house in Cuba.

It sounded like a buzz word in my head.
It's basically like saying that the two opposite views in this country are dependent of eachother and they have to step it up to prove their point. Like their both on their side of the fence or whatever using the same tactics of exaggeration and disinformation, trying to scream across to eachother. Who can scream the loudest type thing.

I don't know. When you don't know what to say create a clever buzz word, and if someone asks it go into a mini-rant trying to pull away from the topic, but also staying in the general topic at hand. It works.

Try not to follow that up with a paragraph explaing how to use buzz words or it shoots your credibility out of the window.

Jesus Christ this is why I stay out of Politics & Current Affairs forum, because all I end up doing is painting myself as a jackass. I should just pretend to think everything is evil and every wave somehow harks back to the Hitler arm woody and post something about how much my president is the big doo doo head that he obviously is.

first of all, "arm woody"?

secondly, it's funny how everyone who thinks bush is great thinks everyone's out to demonize him, whereas those of us who don't think he's great thinks he's out to demonize us. as "unpatriotic" and therefore "evildoers." i'm sorry, as tasteless as i find the comparisons to hitler, i still can't get behind a President whose administration characterizes dissent as terrorism.

then again...this week we're sending millions in aid, food, medicine, and workers to iran after the huge earthquake there killed 20,000 and leveled a city. iran, who couldn't be bothered to even condemn the sept. 11 attacks, let alone send us aid. it all comes down to this essential mental deficit i have: i just don't understand extremists. on either side.

i was watching a show on nostradamus the other night, and there's a quatrain that refers to a leader called "Mabus" bringing about Armageddon. i think nostradamus is a bunch of crap, but i thought it was interesting the interpretation that's been put on this verse: people have theorized that "Mabus" is a strange redacted combination of the names "Osama" and "Bush." which is also probably a bunch of crap, except as a Rosarch test of sorts...i think it's clear, even if some people can acknowledge it only subconsciously, that BOTH Osama bin Laden as representative of backward-thinking religious fundamentalism AND George W. Bush as representative of backward-thinking social Darwinism are bringing about the end of the world.

man i remember that page. heh.

anyway.

duh, bush = hitler is over-the-top.
however, it's pushing a viewpoint i agree with. that is - bush is a sucky president. (not that that's new, most of them have sucked.)

imo, bush is just a puppet (once again, like most past & future presidents)

the only big diff i see is that he's more of a fuck-up (to the world's and his own detriment) than others have been. he's more obvious. that's why there's so much villifying going on. it's easy. and yeh, it's fucking tired. it was fucking tired a year ago. but still - at least it's promoting something i agree with - bush sucks, let's get rid of him.

will the replacment be any better? probably not by much. but why not try? so yeh. there you have it.

disx, you were getting dangerously close to saying something about getting bush out of office, as if that would help matters, which is wayyyy too optimistic for someone as fashionably cynical as yourself. hence your next sentence, which was a backpedaling classic, adding quickly that it's not like a new person in office would help at all.

so what's your point, there, chachi? should we dis-elect bush or what? i just thought it was funny how your studied ennui kept you from saying anything of real substance in that post. that's all.

i'm not cynical - i'm ignorant. get it straight.
simply put - i honestly have no clue if getting bush out of office would help anything.
forgive me for not having any pillar-like opinions with which to guide myself on every decision.

it makes me feel pretty helpless.
i mean, i think bush is bad. yeh, that's one thing i'll 'stick' with. but even then - who the fuck am i to make this call?
i mean jesus christ, you can't trust anything, so sometimes it's just like - why bother?
that whole "the only knowledge lies in knowing you know nothing" is just so fucking true. and that depresses the hell out of me. not cos i want to be able to say "HA! i KNOW this!" but just so i could actually make a decision and feel like i'm doing the 'right' thing.

but there is no right. and if there is no right than there's no point in trying to change anything and politics is just a waste of time.

and really this is all bullshit. cos yeah, things can change. and you can try to guide that change for the better. but still... i just can't ever find it in me to really stick with this kind of shit.

i mean - i can't even get myself into a real college and out living on my own - so how am i supposed to know what's best for the fucking country? it's not gonna happen.

i should just stick to wasting my life.

ps - fuck you for getting me all mopey and shit. you just ruined my god damn day. it's all your fault.

The part that bothers me most about Bush is that he was not elected, he was appointed. And the part that bothers me second most about Bush is that he can't talk well. I believe good public speaking skills are one of the qualities that define a good leader. And he can't even read from a teleprompter without screwing up, let alone when he tries to speak off top of his head. But I don't think he fancies himself a dictator.
