cnn is projecting bush with 234 and kerry with 188. the big thing will be my state, ohio. right now the margin is around 100,000 difference between bush and kerry, bush holding 51%, kerry 49%. if kerry wins ohio, based on cnn's projections, he'll still have a pretty good chance to make the presidency, if kerry loses ohio, things will look pretty bleak.

judas, we all know better than to trust fox new's projections, or their news.

msnbc is projecting 246 for bush and 206 for kerry at the moment, fox is agreeing with this sentiment at this point.

hold on there man. cnn's very conservative projections are still coming in. bush-249 kerry-196

and remember, these are projections, they aren't necessarily 100% accurate or final.

but either way, i feel your pain. the wife has even talked about, in all seriousness, moving to canada, or even moving to a more progressive/liberal city. as of yet ohio's difference is only at around 100,000 votes for the popular votes, and that's for 88% of the counties. hang in there man.

aussie's looking nice. i've seen a few library openings there.

ugh, sec. of state for ohio's on cnn now. this is the dork that was trying to toss out many voter registrations based on their paper thickness, that is until it was pointed out that the registrations coming out of his office, including his own, were on the paper deemed unacceptable.

christ, cnn just called ohio a tctc state, a green state, too close to call.

mung, alex, i'm not pussying out of anything, i'm just preparing for the chance that my job will no longer be available to me. they tried to take it from me once, and i know where i stand on senority. i want to have my best options laid out in advance this time. fuck bush for the simple fact of his impact on my local economy. fuck him for thinking coming here a few times in the past few weeks will just smooth everything over. fuck him for thinking that to repair and rebuild our national economy that he can encourage companies to send away the jobs of the people he's supposedly trying to serve.

canada, australia, hell, even a move to europe are all options for me at this point. i'm not going to stay behind in a place that is trying to stick a live grenade up it's own ass.

iowa is having mechanical problems with their voting machines. ohio's not going to be called, thanks to the provisional ballots. there's a very very slim chance anyone will be named president tonight. lawyers are being sent out from both sides, it's all going to get bloody from here. i'm off to bed.

i was thinking, why don't we just build a new country? I mean, don't we have the resourses (like, say a mountain or two that no one wants no more) and the man power (so many people being desperate for jobs nowadays), why don't we just go build like a chain of island resorts and we can go be happy, tanned commies together.

I do American Studies at University but I'm only in it for the Literature and Film. I replaced Topics in History and Culture and American History 1 with creative writing modules, additionally I don't watch the news, listen to the radio or read the newspapers so I only know what I've heard from people and I mostly ignore them. So when someone from the BBC came to lead a discussion group after our Huck Finn lecture today, my plan was to lay low and light the hell out of there as soon as possible. It really pissed me off to hear the students in my class making comments on something they only have a limited knowledge of, they betrayed their lack of savvy in their inarticulate but frequent use of 'like' and 'sort of' oooh, I have nothing but disdain for my classmates. The BBC man held a show of hands poll, out of forty people one would have voted for Bush, thirty-eight for Kerry and one solitary, brave, well-dressed girl put her hand up and confessed that she didn't know. That was me. At least I was honest, most people took their cue from the people around them and it makes me nervous that these people are at voting age.

I'm not advocating voter apathy, but I can imagine these people voting based on whatever the headline on the front page of the Sun reads that day. I'd rather not vote at all than make an uninformed decision and be partly responsible if it all goes horribly wrong.

Yeah, but actual voting is anonymous so then they can vote for who they actually want to.

We did this in like 6th grade, asked us to raise our hands if we were republican or democrat - I raised my hand with the majority (rep.) because I thought I was mistaken Happy hehe, I didn't know much about politics and was thinking - wait, maybe it's called republican... hehe. Stupid. When I got home I asked my mom what we were and she said Democrat - heh, oops.

Well, Kerry just conceded. I feel sick. So many things are going to suffer: women's rights, gay rights, the environment, social programs, Social Security, the deficit is going to get bigger, there's going to be more war and more death, more children are going to get the screws put to 'em, etc. fucking etc.

Yes…let's run away to a happier sunnier place. I know you like the equator, but I'm thinking Finland...a little sauna, a little vodka, a little juustoa... now that's living. And Finland is non-warring and respectful to its women.

I have to hand it to Kerry. He (or at least an aide of his) was quoted as saying that they would concede to prevent anything "that would further divide this country." Makes me wish he's won even more.

God bless us all.....
