Useful software website for writers.
So being a student, i received an e-mail a day or so ago with this link: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-uk/default.a...
I was dubious at first, thinking 'full microsoft office for £35.95, no fucking way' but after speaking to some friends who took advantage of the deal, I now know it's legit, and have just sent away for my copy.
All you need is: A student e-mail address or be enrolled at a university/college.
So if you are either of the above you can take advantage of this offer. Or if you have a friend who is a student you can just get them to send away for this. You can only buy one copy of each program.
Also here's a link for all my US buddies: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.a...

I use Open Office cause I don't think the bastards deserve a dime, but this sounds like a deal for people whose schools force em to buy stuff.

I was the same up until last week when my mac decided to start having problems with openoffice.

They've done great student discounts for years, for students but this is a particularly good offer. The "Student" version of Office they usually offer tends to go for $120.
In case you didn't know, you can get student versions of most major applications, including all the Adobe stuff. Just go here http://www.academicsuperstore.com
