I just created a really stupid book trailer for Stranger Will. It made me laugh, and that's really all that matters. However, I would love for this to have the chance to make other people laugh, too.
My dream would be to have this trailer picked up by one of the lit sites I frequent (GalleyCat or the like). In order for that to happen, this thing needs to be shared. If you like the trailer and have a few moments to share, I would love you.

Hey everyone,
Today I received my copies of Nelson Literacy 8: Homegrown - the eighth-grade textbook that will feature my short story, Halloween Knight, in schools across Newfoundland this September. I thought it was going to be a regular, wall-of-text-style book, but it's actually fully illustrated with custom artwork on every page. So yeah, H.K. has been brought to life by the amazing Craig Phillips, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Those of you who remember the story being workshopped on this site might get a kick out of this pic:
I've got the entire spread up on my Facebook page, so feel free to check them out. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone here at the site who helped shape this piece.

This is an old one, but it's the only one I have in English and not being an IT-related article. I was experimenting with writing fiction in English and it also paid the bills. So here it is: Soul Catcher

Great stuff, Nathan. You've been killing it lately! Oh, and Voodoo, the links to the story don't seem to work - they just loop me back to the topic page. I had to use the link in your sig to reach solarcide.

Thank you both, Chris and Martin, for your words -I posted another response over in the Solarcide thread which speaks to this news. But yeah exciting stuff -I'm happy to have a story there. Plus I know Martin's kicked some ass with his own stories lately -Solarcide provides links to the places where those have been published as well.

My story "Tinkering With the Moon" was accepted by Gargoyle Magazine.
http://www.gargoylemagazine.com/gargoyle.php
This annual journal has a great history: Allen Ginsberg, TC Boyle, Jennifer Egan, Ben Marcus, Rick Moody and newer talents like Ethel Rohan, Kim Chinquee, etc. My story is a bit of literary magical realism. I'm stoked.

I just got a short story published in a Romanian magazine.
Am auzit de... (2) [tr. "I've heard of... (2)"]
My short story “SCOPE” just went live over at Thunderdome.
This is the first in what I hope may become a short series of pulp-style pieces.
Just a bit of fun really, think guns and blood, action packed scenes mixed with grimy noir. Something like that anyway,

The guys from Booked were kind enough to invite me to take part in their author interview podcast series today. In fact, their last couple of weeks’ episodes have been devoted to the Warmed and Bound Sessions, speaking to my fellow contributors in the anthology. We talk about my story “Headshot,” the book trailer I created to promote the collection, my upcoming novel Flashover, influences, screenwriting, music, and probably some other things I’ve since forgotten. They’re an easygoing and honest duo, with excellent taste in books that much of The Cult shares, so be sure to subscribe after you’ve checked out a few episodes.

Crime Factory #7 is LIVE! New Fiction and Features by Todd Robinson, Sean Doolittle, Matthew C Funk, Nik Korpon, Jordan Harper, Frank Wheeler Jr., F. My story "Twenty Reasons to Stay and One to Leave" is now LIVE at Metazen.
I really like what these guys are doing. They publish one new story a day, and today, Monday, August 8th, I'm up. Great group of writers publishing here, honored to be a part of it. This story was a bit different than what I usually do, built on on idea, one phrase that starts off "Because..." which in my head, was the voice of the protagonist answering the accusations towards him: "Why do you stay with her?" or "Why don't you leave?" or "Why is she so screwed up?" or "Why do you still help her?"

Nice job, both of you. I'm finishing up Crimes right now (and Corydon's not far from where I grew up and where my extended family lives). And Samaritan was one of my favorite reads this year, certainly one of its biggest surprises (no offense). It's just a really strong first novel.
I couldn't agree more -Samaritan's actually the best book I've read this year. Or my #1. A really strong first novel indeed.

Hey Nathan it was actually your feedback that put me on to The Samaritan in the first place.
And yeah, it's a top quality book. Was great to shoot a few questions Fred's way. Nice guy.

Not sure where where the "Acceptances" thread went -maybe it's going over to LitReactor which is great, but I just received word that my story "No Fly Zone" will be appearing at InfectiveINk.com in October. It's a very short piece, and influenced by one of their prompts that I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to write about -due to past, personal experience. But anyway those guys have a lot of great stuff going on over there, so since my story's not live yet and technically this thread is to promote something, I'll promote Them: http://infectiveink.com/archivedate.html (InfectiveINk.com)

I've probably directed most of you to this already, so for fear of over saturation (is that even possible, to over saturate something?) here's my newest Stranger Will promotional video. Damn, I should really start focusing on a different book.

My blog is leaning more towards entertainment nowadays.
Been working on some stuff but nothing has been officially published just yet (It could be because I'm too lazy to go through the Writers Market lately and I can't seem to find a market for stories about how bulldogs are dicks.)

I conducted an interview with Michael Sonbert about his novel We Are Oblivion for my blog/writer's hideout.
I know a lot of people here enjoyed this book.
You can see the interview here if you would like to
Michael gave me some great answers.
