My story, "A Fairytale Girl For Every Budding Boy", is now up at Pulp Metal Magazine.

Ah, there you go, Bek. Way to go!
Congrats, Bek that's awesome.
My story "Gateway" is now lived up at Dirty Noir. Enjoy.

Dirty Noir is a cool new crime zine that Doc "Matthew" O'Donnell has launched. Eddy and McKay in here too.

Nice one, Richard. Just read it -Congrats to you and Doc both. And you as well, Rebecca -congrats again on Pulp Metal. Fucking Websense blocks that site here at work but I'll check it out tonight at home.

Send me something, Nathan, you bum!
Believe me, I want to -my problem is that I don't have much under a thousand words, but I'm going through some stuff and seeing what I can do about that.
Visit me at Solarcide—A Writer’s Hideout: http://solarcide.com/fiction/nathan-pettigrew/
Nice! Got anything at around 10k that's noirishly tasty? I'm serialising novellas and novelettes, too.
Now that I might be able to produce. Won't be for a month or two, though -I have a move going on that includes the whole nine: job search, apartment search, and then of course the actual move(SUCKS!), but once I get all that shit out of the way, I'll be tuning up some material I have. Currently working on something else that doesn't qualify, but I do have something in mind for what you're talking about.

My story, "Eden" is now up in the première issue of L'Allure des Mots. It's a really need "audiovisualbook" concept, with plenty of sexy nudes, as well as videos of models reading some classic literature. You have to pay to watch the videos, but 4% of the income goes toward ProLiteracy, while the rest goes to the magazine.
I feel so good being a part of this.
http://pulpmetalmagazine.wordpress.com/2011/05/29/a-fairytale-girl-for-e...
I read this last night! It was creeptasticly good.
And L'Allure des Mots looks amazing. I'll have to read your story and explore the other ones later.
Aw, thanks. I wasn't really confident with that story, but people seem to really enjoy it. I'm glad you did, too.
Also, thanks to everybody else who congratulated me. Makes me feel kind of bad for complaining about my pitiful luck about a month ago. The moody writer life is too easy to slip into.
Matthew: I stumbled over your "official" site yesterday, and I have to say that I was mighty impressed. I love the niche you're settling yourself into. And congrats on your magazine as well!
Nathan: I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, but good luck with your move in the meantime. I can vouch for your dread, as I've still got a room full of my crap that I am just not looking forward to sorting through.
Thanks, Rebecca! Already found an apartment, I think, so it shouldn't be too bad -I'll get through it. And yeah it's great seeing your work get the exposure and love that it deserves. Eden is highly enjoyable. Will be sure to spend the dough on those sexy nudes and models reading for a good cause -Fuckin' Aye! My kind of magazine

Agreed! I read this the other day and really enjoyed it.
And Stephen, I just got around to reading Ruby Tuesday. Great story! I didn't know you had it in you. You're a sneaky cunt.

Why thank you. I'm proud of that one, i like how it turned out.
Yeah, Stephen's a badass. Hope you send something along my way at some point, big S.
And thanks, Bek. The new webzine's going pretty good so far. Had about 1700 page views since I launched yesterday morning at about 6am. It's settled a bit now, but hopefully all those people come back and visit. I actually hate my personal website, which is my I haven't promoted it. I'm working on a new design--it'll still be the same style. But it's at a standstill currently while Dirty Noir takes all my time.
Our mate, Martin got his story "Cloud" published over at We Are Vespertine I'm pretty sure. Which is cool. I was actualy gonna ask him if he wanted to publish it at DN because I really dug it. Too bad. It's a great little story.
Wow cheers Matt.
Yeah there's a link to the story in Brandon's thread, but seeing as this is the brothel, you should all click here. I'm fucking stoked to see my story in such good company.
Many thanks guys, and Matt you know this one is dedicated to you sir. Serious thanks about the potential offer for DN, you guys are making me feel like a real writer or something lol.
You'd better believe I'm hunting Dirty Noir for my next credit. Love the site man, I want in there at some point.

I'll send you stuff, Matt, i just need to get more stories written down.
No worries, Stephen. Take your time, man. You've got a good style. Perfect for Dirty Noir. Love the stuff of yours I've read so far.
Martin, if you can give me something as badass as "Cloud", I'll take it in a heartbeat.
Gonna post the call for submissions in the workshop forums shortly and a promo thread in Trades, Barters, Promotions. Pretty stoked with how it's all going so far. It's evolving already. I'm keen to get a house artist on board, though I think the notion of this is completely idealised. It's not going to easy to find someone that rocks the style I want and wants to put in as much work as I'm after for no compensation other than exposure. If you know anyone, tell them to give me a holler.
I'm basically after someone to draw a nice little pulp-magazine style sketch for each weekly story and then to do up some covers for the bi-monthly collections and novellas because I'm planning on releasing them all as downloadable PDFs as well as live on the site.
I'm buzzing with excitement. Been so flat-out. Somehow, still finding time to write myself. It's crazy. But I feel good.
Once I'm free Im deffo sending something over there. It's not my usual writing style but I feel I have something that will work. Crazy that you have so many page views already...
You look like the type of guy / gal, who would like:
You can only try, Jay. Give it a shot. For sure.
Yeah, it is kinda crazy. It's settled substantially, but I'm still looking at around 400 page views today. Definitely not a bad thing. With enough luck that picks up, or, at the very least, stays steady as word gets around and the reputation becomes solid. Lots of bigger plans for the future of DN.
I NEED that resident artist though. I've decided. I'm sold on the idea now. So I'm doing it. Don't care how. I need to find an artist.
I missed this somehow. Tanzer, as you know, is a great writer and, also as you know, a great guy all around. The Cult would be wise to check out his latest book, You Can Make Him Like You.
As for my whoring, Booked Podcast recently reviewed Stranger Will. They have plenty of blush-worthy things to say about it.

Exciting news. I just confirmed today that I'll be one of a handful of authors that will be attending a residency at Writers in the Heartland this October. They only take ten authors a year. I'll have a week in a house out in the middle of Illinois, three square meals a day and nothing but time to write.
Now the hard part, what to write? Do I get a bunch of stories started, play around with some steampunk, neo-noir, edgy lit, horror, magical realism, and aim high with journals and magazines? Or do I start my third novel? I have an idea for the third one (I'm shopping my second, Disintegration right now) that might be steampunkish, in the Stephen King, Dark Tower kind of way, with a tentative title of Incarnate. I was able to write 40,000 words in one week for Disintegration, over four days, can I keep up that 10k word pace over seven days? Time to do some research and re-read some books that have inspired me in the past.
Whatever I write, don't worry, it'll be dark, sexy and strange. In other words, the usual.

Hey, I'm in this!
Just got my hands on a copy, and it's good. Really good publishing job and packed with great flash fiction. Mine, "425 Sugared Honey" was workshopped on here a while back, so thanks for the input!
It's available here if you want about 100 pieces of coffee time flash:
http://www.pillhillpress.com/shoppe-wicked-east-press.html
They've got the next edition open to submissions right now:

I reckon The Cult could take it over!

Congrats, Chris; looks like a pretty neat anthology. Thanks for posting the link as well. I've got a piece that I wrote for a contest, but I don't normally write flash so I've no idea where to send it. I'll probably try it with the second edition.
Congrats, Davey. How is the anthology, the quality, any names you recognize? I've avoided them for awhile. But if they're on the up and up...

Hey Richard,
I don't know about on the up and up, but it's a very nicely published book. Writing qualities good from what I've seen, but no names I recognize.
My guess is that the business model is that if you've got 100 authors involved then they'll all buy at least 1 copy and then you've got your money back. It's available currently through Pill Hill Press and Wicked East, but will also be on Barnes and Noble, is out as an e-book of sorts and will also be kindle. So in that way they are expanding their outlets, and may start hitting people outside of their immediate circle.
I don't think this is a career starter, but if you've got a bit of flash you want to see in solid, paper & ink published form, then I reckon it's a good way to go. I like seeing my words in a book on my bookshelf. Otherwise with flash it's often internet zines.
Also, Jessica, who's the editor is working hard and is worth supporting. And she publishes novellas if they take her fancy.

So i had this story accepted for this anthology that benefits earthquake relief in Japan and i did a short little interview for it: http://storiesforsendai.blogspot.com/2011/06/meet-authors-stephen-conley....
The anthology comes out at the end of the month and there's a giveaway or something if you buy a copy. So look at it.

My story "Daybreak" is now live at Stepaway Magazine. Very kind words from the editor there, Darren Richard Carlaw:
"We begin with a story by Richard Thomas, a critically acclaimed writer whose work has been anthologized alongside Stephen King and Peter Straub. Thomas’s story, “Daybreak” is set in Wicker Park, Chicago in the depths of winter. Thomas skilfully disturbs our perceptions of the walk, transforming it into a devastating act of catharsis, a manner of slipping from the emotional trappings of the urban carapace."

So awesome that you got a nod from the editor.
Very cool. I don't usually get that kind of interaction. He put it first because it was his favorite. They sent me a really nice acceptance too. They actually approached me first, and we worked on some stories I had, ended up writing something totally new for them. Great experience.
