Solarcide - a Writer's Hideout

Edit - I neatened up this first post so it can work as a general intro. I figure this way I can keep updating here and not have to start any more threads
Hi guys,
Ladies and Gentlemen, together we can kill the sun.
You know you want to.
I have decided it's time to launch SOLARCIDE, my blog, writer's retreat, and online portfolio.
All very much WIP. However one thing for is certain, my mission statement for this place is that it is NOT all about me. I want this to be something that can work in partnership with a lot of the projects I know that you guys are spending a great deal of time on.
So yeah, links. I got a whole section I mean to fill with them. I made a start, some of you guys will find your sites there already.
If you aren't up there and you have a blog/website/resource site/basically anything cool, then let me know and I'll link the hell out of you.
And, (the biggie!!!!!)
I want special guest stories and interviews. I want book reviews. Articles about writing. Anything cool. At the moment, genre is not an issue. Neither (within reason) is length. There's a whole section on there for special guest content. I wasn't kidding when I said this isn't all about me.
Now I understand that I hardly stand to offer a great deal of pull as a host. However it's important to me that this website is launched in the right way. I want it to grow in the right way. I'd love to have some of you onboard. If I get one guest story a month I will be delighted.
To kick things off, Mike Frounfelter has kindly let me use his story Loose Strings for the first guest slot. Mike has been very active in the workshop here since he joined, if you have posted anything there in the last six months or so then there's a good chance this guy was one of your reviewers. I know he's been very helpful with my stuff there. This a cool little story he's given me to use here, I urge you to check it out.
Ok, I'm a leave you guys alone soon. Before I go I made a kind of hit list of things I would love for you guys to help me out with if you can.
1)Please check out the site when you have half an hour spare, I will love you forever. Read Mike's story or one of mine, maybe leave a comment. Subscribe if you are feeling particularly cool!
2) Post your web address below if you have a site you think belongs on my links list.
3) Add a link to the site to your blog/website. I will do more than love you forever, I might actually come start singing at your window.
Ok, 4) gets a little cheeky.
4) Consider whether you maybe you have anything that might make a suitable special guest feature for Solarcide for the future. C'mon together we can be unstoppable! No time limit or specific guidelines. Edgy, dark, fucked up, weird, or even (shock horror) something nice.
So yeah, thats it. Did you make it to the bottom? Love ya if ya did
Peace guys
-Martin

Cheers Brandon,
Vespertine was one of the first on the list
That list was a kind of quick brain storm of places and blogs I could think of from the top of my head earlier. I've remembered a bunch more since, will add them later.
Birthday drinking is going to start soon when a few friends arrive, so probably not gonna get any more work done today. But it's been sweet having a week off from work and no other commitments. Got a whole bunch of stuff done. Hopefully the weekend will be just as fruitful.

Thanks for the link man. Will reciprocate it now. Very cool site - are you going to add an email box so we can follow it?
You look like the type of guy / gal, who would like:
Well wow -Happy Birthday, Martin. 24?? You're 10 years younger than me -Fuck You, Man! ahaha Congrats on Solarcide -wish I would've seen this post before leaving for work because I gave "Cloud" a shoutout and link on facebook this morning and would've included this. There's always tonight -Solarcide's blocked on my work computer but I'll check it out at home. Enjoy that drinking.

@ Jay, you are welcome, many thanks for the link on your blog. Yeah later today I'm gonna hit it up again, do a few bits and bobs I ran out of time for yesterday.
@ Nathan, hey you got anything you want me to put a link to? As for the shout out on FB, cheers man, appreciated.
Facebook is something I have always avoided so far, it kinda annoys me. However I see the potential there, and I guess that making a page for Solarcide would be a whole different proposal to making a page for myself. I'm close to cracking, and I think I will end up doing it soon.
@ Mike, you are welcome buddy. Glad to have you on board

I know a lot of people here enjoyed this book.
You can see the interview here if you would like to
Michael gave me some great answers.

Hot on the tails of the last update comes another quality announcement.
The interviews section is growing up fast. Today I am happy to be able to post interviews with Andrez Bergen, the author of the novel Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat, and with Kristoper Young, the head honcho over at Another Sky Press.
I really can't thank these guys enough. Both went far above the call of duty. I'm really happy with this one.
You can read them here.

Thanks, Martin! Yeah I'm proud of this story and the fact that it's up at Solarcide -some great interviews over there lately with some happening authors, plus I know my story isn't the first guest story -so check out that last one too for some good reading. The links section, also, is amazing -lots of good places for writers.

Next up, an Deadly Double Feature of interview and book review.
Joseph A. W. Quintela, the editor of Short, Fast, and Deadly magazine answered me a few questions about his miniature fiction project, which IMO is a very cool site.
Also as a bonus feature I added my review of two of the chapbooks that Joseph has released as part of his Deadly Chaps sister project.
You can read all about it here.

My short story “SCOPE” just went live over at Thunderdome.
This is the first in what I hope may become a short series of pulp-style pieces.
Just a bit of fun really, think guns and blood, action packed scenes mixed with grimy noir. Something like that anyway,
You can read the story here.

I have a miniature fiction piece called 'Bloodsilk' in issue 87 of Short, Fast, and Deadly.

My story BILLY THE WHALE is live over at Dirty Noir.
Chuffed about this, really good company over there, I'm way out of my depth amongst those guys heh.
Also, just wanted to give out a renewed shout for guest work and the like. Nathan and Mike's stories want some new buddies to hang with. I'd gladly run guest story slots for stories by Cult members. Lets share the love, folks

Hi all. This week I have two updates!
First up is issue two of Six Minute magazine. The guest editor Clint is a regular poster here at the Cult. This new issue features "Microfiction," my cryptically titled collection of seven mini pieces. This issue is stuffed with quality flash fiction and craft articles. Check it out here and please spread the link around.
Next, the third and (for the time being) final installment of my short, noir-themed stories, "The Hole" over at Shotgun Honey. Ths sight is tough - only let you have 700 words. Check it out here.
Also - new special guest posts coming soon (I hope lol)
Peace

Fred Venturini, the author of the novel The Samaritan, recently answered a few questions for me about the book and about the experience of becoming a published author.
This is a future Book Club pick over here too!

Posted a new guest story today.
What The Eyes Behold is a horror tale by Cult workshopper Mike Frounfelter. He originally had this one published in a mag called After Hours back in the nineties. It's way too good to let rest in peace so we're bringing it back.
