As you may have heard Dzanc Books signed Stephen Graham Jones to a three book deal, one of which is the long awaited Seven Spanish Angels.

SYNOPSIS: Life isn't easy in El Paso, Texas. Neither is death. Caught between them is crime-scene tech in-training Marta Villarreal, trying to work a case that may very well be her last. And she's having to work it without her assigned homicide escort, who's also kind of her boyfriend, and would look a lot more innocent if he would just come in, answer some questions about all these dead girls. Have the Juarez murders come north of the border now, or is it a copycat? And, why these women, why now? For as long as Marta can remember, the El Paso sun has baked the ground into a hard shell, so the dead can't climb out. Not this week, though. This week the dead are all over town. And Marta may be among them.

It will be released as an eBook this August but for special fans and friends of Stephen here is a deal direct from the man at the top of Dzanc Books, Dan Wickett:

The July selection for our eBook club is going to be Seven Spanish Angels. And we're doing two things with it:

1. Making it exclusive to the eBook club for that first month—it won't be for sale anywhere else, including our website, until August 1, so the only way to get it before then is via the eBook Club.

2. Setting up a special deal for SGJ fans for the eBook Club. We now have a bunch of different ways you can join, but for this offer in particular, we've set up a hidden url.

Where we now have as our basic deal, $55 for one full year, we are chopping that to $50 from this url. So, basically, anybody purchasing this link is getting SSA for free, and getting it July 1 and not having to wait longer for it.

So head over now and snatch that up. If you don't have a Kindle, now may be the time. But you can also download the Kindle app and read this book on your computer so NO EXCUSES! All of the details are up at the Dzanc site, just follow the link.

i resent the idea that it's an ebook only.

Well, that's a new trend. I have a hard time reading an entire novel on my computer, but I've been leaning towards getting a Kindle for awhile now, and this may seal the deal for me. I mean, you want to read SSA don't you? That's all that matters to me. I haven't read a bad SGJ book. Ever.

of course, rich. but until that's the only way i can read a new book, i wont do it. i really take issue with the idea that you dont own a book you buy. on kindle, you dont. there has already been an instance or two where books were 'recalled' and people who purchased them had them removed from their device.

im not *against* electronic publishing. im against the way it works when it comes to ownership rights and other such things. im also turned off by this notion that it's not only green, but it makes people read more. neither are true.

Great idea. People don't have to worry about electronic killing books (maybe print) if people come up with these ideas.

I'm just wary about dropping the money onto books I don't want to add onto my To read pile.

Really nice of you to support SGJ and do this for him Richard.

i believe so, atomos - if those books are released within 6 months of you signing up - i forget the exact dates - i know that ATBS and Trial of Nolan are in there, not sure if the other two books will be released as ebooks along or ALSO in ebook format, i'll send dan wickett a note

i do know you get 11 titles for that $50, including FIVE right away, Kyle Minor's book is awesome:

* Robert Lopez's Asunder
* Stacey Levine's The Girl With Brown Fur
* Jeff Kass's Knuckleheads
* Michael Czyzniejewski's Elephants in Our Bedroom
* Kyle Minor's In the Devil's Territory

From the Darkness Right Under Our Feet by Patrick Michael Finn is the first book in the club, then Stephen's book, SSA is the second. I don't know the other four titles.

I'm not joining a book club, but still very much look forward to reading this once it's out.

I also recommend backing up your Kindle purchases to disk. I only turn on the wifi when purchasing something, and should there be another licensing cluge like that isolated 1984 incident (doubtful there'd be a significant one, given the heat they took over it), I'll just load it on again.
