Quickies Chicago - October 13 Reading

http://quickieschicago.blogspot.com/
See the right side of the page? Well, looks like I'm reading with Aaron Burch (editor of Hobart) and Blake Butler, author of SCORCH ATLAS, who just landed a two book deal.
BEST READING OF ALL TIME.
So I have to read the elephant penis story, right? My Opium short entitled "Animal Magnetism" seems like the right thing for a 4 minute read.

If you're in Chicago, come on out and watch me make an ass of myself.
Peace,
Richard

Cool. It was a blast, lots of great stories. And thanks for the book!
NP. Hobart is one of my favorites, the guy Aaron that read that dildo story, he edits for Hobart. I need to write something closer to what they like to publish, which is usually eccentric, strange, sexy and sometimes dark. Read Hobart 10 and tell me what you think. I have a hard time pinning down what they like at Hobart.
And pick up BIG WORLD by Mary Miller and GIRL TROUBLE by Holly Goddard Jones as well as Amelia Gray's AM/PM if you dug her stuff, her "insults". Those are three really great voices, wanted to type up the TITLES here in case you forgot. I've been really on this alt-chic-lit trip lately.

Those insults were the highlight of the night for me.
I agree. I'm going to try to ransom that collection and another bit she did the night before.

Pub? Quickies? Elephant penis?
I'm there. And by the sound of things, I'll bring an extra pair of clothes.
