I gets interviewed
It's like being a rockstar, without all that pesky music
The JMWW blog interviews me. I get deep, but not deep enough to dive; jump in me and you might break your neck.
Is that too far to go with the metaphor? Yes.
Didn't there used to be a 'thumbs up' smiley?
And also, I seem to remember a bleeding Christ one as well.
But what I meant to emoticon to you was, thumbs up, not bleeding Christ. I just got side tracked.
Cool interview.

Hey man,
Congratulations on all of that.
Brilliant.
I got the link of some guy reading the first minute of the title story, any other taster links? I'd be very interested.
Cheers, Davey

Build the website and the book will come.
That's this one, right?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psk9UyUTqg8
There aren't any real teasers out there yet. On December 31st, one of the stories will be posted in full at Troubadour21 (http://www.troubadour21.com/). Also, one may be posted at 3AM Magazine (www.3ammagazine.com) sometime in January. I don't know which story yet, though.
Then there's these author notes (http://www.calebjross.com/works/booklength/charactered-pieces-stories/bl...) which aren't the stories themselves, but they are small bits about each story. Mostly the origins and such.
EDIT: I am going to try and get the Amazon.com Look Inside feature up and running, too.
OW Press wasn't printed through one of the amazon-owned companies (a small press in Baltimore did it, I think), so, and I just figured this out, there is a lengthy process for getting the look inside feature up and running. About 3 weeks. Boooooo. Hopefully it will get done soon, though.
Did either of you guys notice a trackable change in sales or personal site traffic when the look inside feature went live?
Not that that I could attribute to that feature, no, because most of my sales thus far have not come from people just browsing and stumbling over it, but rather being prompted to go there directly. Whether their choice to buy or not was affected by having read a sample, I couldn't say, but would love to know. I like to think that when the playing field is level like that, my odds go up exponentially.
As a consumer myself, when I'm browsing Amazon, Look Inside definitely affects my buying habits. We know anyone can write an amazing couple of paragraphs for an online tease or first page, but when I can read something random out of the middle and still dig it, that will carry more weight with me. Though I've also trashed as many books as I've carted because of this.

Pretty cool, dude.
