I just saw this auction and I really hope no one gets taken in by it.
Signed Story magazine tops out at $70 on ebay
Signed Pursuit runs $200
Signed FOURTH print of FC shouldn't go for more than $50
This kind of stuff pisses me off.

HOLY PIGFUCKER BATMAN!
A $1000?
Damn...
i know its not right to do or anything but i also wish someone would go ahead and bid like 28,000 dollars then stiff him
no, we should all sign in to eBay and email the seller, telling them what a moron they are. I've done that before. Actually, I think I will.
Who's with me?

It's funny, that the item description reads First Print, yet the number line (from the scan they show) reads Fourth. It's funny, that I bought a used copy of Pursuit for under seven dollars shipped from Amazon mid last year. It's funny, that this seller believes this value of these items.
I think this seller is funny

You guys suppose that RARE 4th print might be this one that he bought for $58.00 last month?
Mirka,
You should contact this seller and tell him to kindly remove our Bibliography link from the item description. I don't want our site affiliated at all with that bullshit auction.

Threaten with legal action...
I offered him $1 for the auction and a suggestion to remove the false item before it bites him in the ass.

or yours is ???
Well considering the guy bought that same book for $55, I doubt that the magazine is worth $900+!

Thats hilarious, he told me he had never seen a first/first on ebay!
(My bid was $100 for te two non FC items and that he could keep the 4th FC since there are plenty of earlier signed FC's on ebay.)
"Dear malakaiii,
One 1st/1st of Fight Club by itself sold on Ebay for over $800 recently. I of course am offering a very rare other signed item, plus the very rare In Pursuit of Happiness. Thought you might like some real evidence. Arik"

Dear Sir, Thank you for your offer, but I must decline. Actually, I have never seen a 1st/1st copy of Fight Club on Ebay ever. (The 2nd printing you pointed out is of course not a 1st/1st.) At present there is only one 1st/1st offered anywhere on the world antiquarian market (some 50,000 booksellers), so it is, to my knowledge, not common whatsoever. Again, thank you for your offer.
haha!
That's hilarious.
Also, he got all up in my stuff until I asked him if it was the same book he bought for $55 last month. And then, no reply.
Looks like a signed copy of Pursuit of Happiness goes for about $275 in mint condition.

I had emailed him the other day, too and this is what I got in response:
"At present, I find no signed First Edition of Fight Club for sale anywhere for less than $350.
In Pursuit of Happiness consistently sells for well over $150.
I have never seen a signed copy of Story Spring 1996. Have you? If this is the only one out there, then the price is indeed more than an unsigned In Pursuit of Happiness.
Do you know of any antiquarian dealer selling all three items together?"
ha ha ha

yes i do
And I find it funny that I treated myself to a sighed fight club from Helen's store last Christmas.
Plus it was a fourth edition.
Plus chuck personalized it and said "ROAD TRIP< COME SEE MY PLAY! (hell yeah)"
Plus it cost twenty some dollars.
people are strange, no evil
the person who said they were going to send me EXCITEBIKE for NES stiffed me on it. The bastards, i hate Ebay.

Bitch 'em out, exercise the backhand, you know the drill.
well now that i understand what that number line means i unfortunately bought a 1st/4th, i paid around $50 which in comparison to these other auctions seems fair, but i thought a first edition was a first edition......live and learn, then kill yourself
Don't ever by dignity from an old person on Ebay, they are lying, they don't have any.
Also, don't take your dignity out in public as it won't do you any good (at least in America) no one hear wants to see you parade that shit around.
I was here. Then I wasn't. Then I was again.
Looks like you were inspired to make that point in two different threads. How did it feel?

I recently purchased a 1st/4th off of Amazon that was described as a 1st/1st. When I bitched, politely, they refunded my entire purchase price and let me keep the book!
Three cheers for violence.
