Call for Submissions--Anthology
Psychosis: A Journal of Mental Illness.
An anthology based on mental illnesses, each fiction story should be about a unique or rare mental illness. Please query first with your illness of choice in case someone already picked it, if you still want to write it then the better of the two stories will be chosen. We are looking to create a surreal, strange, entertaining but also respectful vision of mental illness. So having a serious tone is important, the stories can verge from stark realism to horrific but no supernatural aspects. No ghosts, goblins, vamps or otherwise please. Hallucinations and delusions of grandeur are welcome but as long as it is made clear to the reader. The more rare and bizarre your illness, the better the chance of it being chosen, stories can be anywhere from 2500-5000 words. The deadline is Jan. 15th, 2012. As for now, this is a for the love or getting your name out there anthology until we can decide on a publisher. The hope right now is for a physical book as well as an electronic version. Either way a copy will be made available to you. I look forward to reading any and all submissions. The higher the quality the more chance we have of finding a professional publisher.
