Bandit is live at 3AM Magazine!
Hey everyone,
My short story, Bandit, is officially live at 3AM Magazine! http://www.3ammagazine.com/3am/bandit/
This piece actually came out of the recent Jack Ketchum intensive here at the Cult, when we were instructed to write about what really scared us.
So, if you've ever had to experience the heartache of a very sick pet, this one is for you.
A huge thanks to everyone who takes a moment to check it out.
Side note: My experience with 3AM can only be described as fantastic. Very friendly, prompt email replies, and an overall kick-ass website. If anyone has been on the fence about submitting with them, take it from me, they're a ***** publication.

Thanks Kirk, I appreciate you taking the time to check it out, and I think it says more than I ever could about the results you can achieve after taking a cult intensive.
Have a good one!

Man, oh, man. You're really nailing it, Chris. Congrats, mate. I'd love to get published by 3AM. Damn, boy. Great story. The pacing is super-fast. Brilliant tension. I just kept reading and reading, needing to get to the end, and as I did, no word of a lie, tears welled in my eyes. Very powerful stuff, Chris.
And, Amy Hempel'd be proud of this one.
Hey Matt,
Thanks a million, man. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the kind words.
And with the way your writing has been going lately, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see one of your pieces at 3AM. I'm expecting to hear big things from you in the new year, that's for certain.

Ah, shucks. Stop it! I hope 2011 is a good year for me publishing-short-stories-and-getting-my-novel-in-fighting-shape-wise.

This is silly. Chris is killing it. He has a story coming out in a book. Published at Word Riot and 3AM. This is his year. No doubt.
He's had an unbelievably great year. I'm really happy for him, and proud to have gotten to know him. Zero ego on top of being an extremely supportive peer. My experienes here wouldn't have been the same without him.
But a lot of that goes for you, too -You keep up the great work. You're kickin' ass too and starting to see results. Keep looking forward to that new year!

Well done, Chris. Great story.

Congrats, man. Good story.
It's great to hear that you've had immediate success with something you worked on in the Ketchum workshop.
