EDITED: FOR PORNOGRAPHIC HACKING
They caught me because of the blood on my fingers and between my teeth. I looked up from my meal on the tile of the kitchen floor and dropped her cold limb with a thud and minor splash and told them it wasn't me.
i was excited to see that this thread finally received some attention..
i'm getting very pissed off. i spent a while on that fucking thread and not one, NOT ONE workshop member dropped a line of acknowledgement here, not until after it was hacked. and submissions still look like shit. go ahead, hot the Browse All button and go through them. unformatted, half of them dont have names attached to them. dont even have names attached to them. is this still a serious workshop? do members take their work seriously anymore? it's getting to the point when i'm going to decide to stick around or not.

What happened to the thread where we brought this to Dennis' attention? I can't find it anywhere.
This porn hacking is a serious issue. The fact that it's carrying on with apparent ease doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.

If I've waited this long I can stand for it a little longer.
Also, not sure if this has been covered, but here is a great example and explanation of how and why you should format your work proplery

Check it out everyone. I can't wait to get this thing off the ground.

That's all good info that Shunn provides. Except the stuff about monospaced fonts without italics and using two spaces at the ends of sentences – those are indeed antiquated these days for submissions, and hard on the eyes. I don't think anyone would actually complain if you stayed old-skool, though, and there are still some people who'll request it, but that's more of an editorial preference than an acceptance one. For screenplays, always, because budgets and schedules rely on a predictable amount of words per line.

i agree about the double spacing nonsense but i'm in too much of a habit now; i always double space my stories when i send them out. i even attempted NOT to once and wound up have two thousand words with double spaces at the end of the sentences and two thousand words with single spaces at the end of the sentences. though i dont think that there is an editor out there who would particularly want to see that, they certainly dont want to see both and i have personally grown an affinity for it too. plus deep down, i like the way it looks on a printed page. but i agree, dont use it as a rule; you might accidentally get used to using it.

No, not yet. Probably will, though. Was this forum here part of the resticted area before? Oops.
Oh, and one nifty feature I've used in MS Word is that you can Find/Replace double-spaces for single ones. The other way around would probably be a disatster, though.
