So my name's Jon. I live in a little town called Huntley. It's in Montana. Don't think of me as a hick or a cowboy though, I fucking dispise country music and am about as far away from a cowboy as one can be. I'm a junior in high school, although I really don't go to a "high school" so much anymore than just a trailer park with a bunch of make shift classrooms in it. The ol' high school was burned down by some dumb fucking arsonists in September... But none of that is really pertinent, so i'll get back on track.
I like Palahniuk's writing a lot, altough I've only read Lullaby, Choke, and Haunted. Hopefully I'll be able to consume some more of his stuff after I finish reading Bagombo Snuff Box.
I'm an aspiring writer. I wrote out my new year's resolutions this morning and decided I'd like to get a short story published. I don't know how acheivable of a goal that is but I'm going to try do it anyway. Hopefully, the cult will help me improve my writing enough to do so.
I've been reading some of the forums and interviews on the site for a couple o' months now so yeah I'm not completely unfamiliar with the site. I just read Chuck's news, it sounds pretty amazing so I'll definitly look into that.
Anyway, that's my awkward introduction to me.

One of my favorite things about being from Wyoming (or other rural states) is that you can ask this question with the sincere intention of possibly knowing someone from the town.

yeah it's rediculous how few people live in Montana and Wyoming... but the isolation and the views are nice for writing
jon, i would say its good for your resolution to become a member here, and read chucks writing essays. some really really valuable bits there. worth more than 36 bucks. if the workshop takes off, it should be a good resource too. if it isnt though, dont blame me. as i said before, in the chat room. take advantage of what you can learn here, and do your best to not get eaten by the general discussion section.
