*Taps microphone* Um... Hi
Hi everyone,
I just joined The Cult yesterday and thought I would introduce myself. I'm a 24 year-old aspiring writer (then again, who here isn't? - an aspiring writer, I mean, not a 24 year-old) from a small town in Newfoundland, Canada.
I've been writing off and on for years now, and have recently decided to concentrate on my goal of becoming published. My major problem though has always been geography. My neck of the woods is an incredibly rural area (so much that people around here say 'neck of the woods' to describe their location) without any writers workshops or bookstores or any real way for someone like me to network their material.
Anyway, a few days ago, after reading my fiance (who isn't really a 'reader', per se) a bunch of chapter rewrites, she joked that maybe I should ask Chuck Palahniuk for advice instead of her, since I own all of his books and even have them on their own private shelf in our den.
That's when I decided to check out the Writers Cult and read that Chuck himself would be critiquing a bunch of submissions. That pretty much sold me on the spot, so here I am.
So that's pretty much my story. I look forward to interacting with all of you and reading some great stuff along the way!
Oh, one more thing: if my display picture didn't give it away, I'm a pretty huge gaming fan as well.

Hello and Welcome dude,
Have a read through Chucks essays and a look around the forum and that should keep you busy.
When I spotted your avatar I thought you were Swedish or something
Derek
welcome.
Bonus points for Vault Boy
I don't have the time anymore, but the first two Fallout games are definately among the best I've ever played. Still have Fallout 2 hanging out on my Macbook Pro for when I need a few minutes of nostalgia.
Howdy. Welcome. Hi! Enjoy the workshop. Hope to see you around the forums!
