Sup, folks
I'm new, obviously. I have been writing short stories and screenplays for five years. Favorite books by Chuck would have to be Fight Club and Survivor. I decided to sign up because of the workshop, but I was curious if someone could inform me on the cost. I believe I read that it is $39; is that a yearly cost, monthly cost...? I'm in college and a little strapped for cash but I would love to get in on some of that Workshop action. From what I have been reading in other threads, it is a great resource for all sorts of advise.

yeah, it really is probably the single best thing you can do for your writing if you are serious about it. honestly, i only really started writing seriously a little over 18 months ago and what i have learned from being a part of the workshop is more than you'll learn elsewhere in such a short amount of time. as long as your willing to apply yourself, of course. i've just recently finished a first draft of a novel and i know that without the workshop, the essays here from chuck, and clevenger, and the support of a bunch of my mates here, i never would have finished this thing in the next few years. now i just have to lock-down and revise. the essays, as a resource, are well worth paying 40 annually. not to mention all the other bits and pieces. the workshop forums alone are a great way to find out information.
seriously, man, if you have a gripe with paypal, like mckay said, PM usernames "mirka" (site admin) or "Vigorous Puppy" (workshop admin) and organise an alternative payment method.
i can't sell the workshop enough.

I would join,but when your mom has no credit cards and you're so poor that you only use the internet through school and library connections, it's not that viable of an option.
PS: Printers fucking blow. My printer stopped printing in black because it doesn't have magenta. I have to pay 5 dollars for an ink cartridge I'll never use to print out black text on a white background. Printers fucking blow.

Most printers have a "black only" setting, I've found, but they tend to be well-hidden in the options/settings. What kind are you using? We'll make some research!

You can pay by mail. I'm not a fan of Paypal for different reasons, but hopefully we can soon offer an additional option. I'm looking into getting a merchant account.
