I never saw a chick with a goatee before.
Derek, you're such a cunt.
Stephen King = overrated.
Thank You.
I happen to think Stephen King is underappreciated. I've been reading him since the early 80's and it's been interesting to follow his journey. Not every book is a gem, but he writes with such passion and humanity.
I'm sure his four hundred bazillion dollars from sales would disagree with you.
'A Long Walk' by stephen king must be made into a film....
God is nothing but a comeidian...

1984 and Coming up for air...
God is nothing but a comeidian...
He's only overrated by his fans, though.

Look at you, harrassing the noobs already.
Noobs VS Noobs. It's like a game show that you just can't help but be entertained by even though you know it's a ridiculous waste of time. Sorta.
NOOB VS. NOOB
This is why we can't have nice things.
Isn't King pretty much looked down the nose by literary people? So how could he be over-rated?
About the only people that do rate him are, like, those die-hard King fans that don't read any other books except for maybe an occasional Koontz.
I think King is a lot like Mickey Mantle. He'll get a hit almost 3 times out of 10. Strikes out a ton. Showed incredible promise early in his career but never took care of himself to reach his potential. Still though, he blasted a few long home runs that people are going to be talking about forever.
Even though I'm one of King's "constant readers," I do read a wide variety of authors. I think people tend to pigeonhole his fans into a category of readers that worship him and give glowing praise to anything he puts a pen to.
There have been a handful of his books that I hated and a handful that I have absolutely loved. The majority fall somewhere in the middle. He does offer much to the reader, specifically his creativity and his character development. He is, however, not everyone's cup of tea.

Howdy.
