soo it's about time i joined this.
good idea. i'm sarah, and i'm socially awkward (:
What made you join/favorite authors/favorite sandwich?
Sarah, stop pretending to be interesting. You're not socially awkward. This is the internet. Come on. Don't play me.
oh don't worry, i don't think i'm remotely interesting.
oh, and i decided to join because upon reading chuck's books my life was changed, and i've been reading him for years now and i figured it was about time.
favorite authors? other than chuck, i enjoy orwell and kesey and carrol. mostly old stuff.
aaand the best sandwhich in the world is a chicken club.
you?
All I'm saying is that you won't make friends by gimmick. Tell us a little about yourself, and, like i said, there's nothing to be awkward about because this is the internet after all.
So, what's your favourite Chuck novel?
What do you do for work?
didn't mean it as a gimmick, just letting everyone know.
invisible monsters, because it reminds me of quite a few people i know. but lullaby is a close second.
right now, i'm in cosmetology school so i can do movie makeup for a living.
but for money i work at subway. ha.
Nice.
What's the most popular sub?
spicy italian, no doubt.
do you write? or draw? or anything like that
A lot of people on here write, but if you search for the creativity thread you'll find a lot of fantastic drawings and photographs. And Matt is right, you don't need to feel awkward or uncomfortable. It's just the Cult. If you don't take things too seriously, you should be fine.
Yeah. That is key here. Don't take anything seriously. Must of us don't.
Sarah, I do write. I play a little music. I'm not much of a drawer, but I've been known to have a go here and there. Do you have any artistic outlets?
You thinking of joining the workshop? I'm in there. Plenty of cool cats in there.
well that sounds good to me. i am new, after all. and i mean really new--i've never done any forum stuff or chat rooms or anything like that. i still need to figure out how everything works.
and yeah, i really would like to join the workshop. writing is basically all i do, other than drawing and reading and such.
and i play the bass, but i'm still pretty new at that.
writing is my number one creative outlet. i wrote something like a book, but it's still a work in progress. no one's ever read it before, and i'd like to change that soon.
What is your favorite Disney-Pixar animated movie?
There is hope, but not for us.
fuck that's hard.
but i'd have to go with monsters inc.
In one sentence, what's your novel about?
You'll only hear good things about the Writer's Workshop. It's forty dollars a year, but it's worth it if you're serious about writing. I'm not a member because I'm not serious about writing anymore, but if you have a book that you'd like critiqued, the Workshop is perfect.
What kind of music do you like?
How many orgasms have you had in your life?
How many have you given others?
How many have you given others?
Imagining Chevy Chase saying this is pretty damn funny
Welcome, new cultie. Don't mind Nate, and watch out for that cunt Derek. Or is it Tuffy? Both of them, probably.
just want to find out if she's selfish or not.
How am I all up in this now?
This is why we can't have nice things.
I think it's cuz Tietz was telling you to lay off the cute british girl in that other welcome thread.
So I guess Derek is the cunt and you're the creepy old guy that the newbs have to watch out for or something.
you're always up in this
So I guess Derek is the cunt and you're the creepy old guy that the newbs have to watch out for or something.
As if he's the only creepy guy people have to look out for.

But he's the old creepy guy.
one word, my book is about...
psychosis.
or cannibalism.
i'm not sure yet, it's sort of a combination of both.
and about the orgasm question...
ha, you'll have to wait til i get to know all of you before i talk about that. (:
++i am definitely serious about writing, and i'm almost 100 percent positive that i'm going to join. 40 bucks, i think, is worth it.
i like mostly punk, but really i'll listen to anything that i has intelligent lyrics, or kickass music.
i suppose that's kind of broad, but whatever haha
Fuck all y'alls.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I wouldn't call Tuffy creepy at all. But he can be a crankypants sometimes.
Love you Tuffy

Define punk. And keep in mind, if you get this wrong, and I mean horribly wrong, you're probably dead to me.
hahah I actually think you are quite classy. Only a real man could sport Betsey Johnson.
Hey Sarah, I'm also curious about the bands you listen to!
I love what you're studying, very cool.
Welcome to The Cult!

Imke is the nicest Cultie.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
Curses, foiled again.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Welcome.
I'm married, so don't worry about me being creepy. I just complain a lot.

And by Imke no less.
honestly, i can't define punk, because i don't really think that real punk needs to be defined.
so i can't answer that.
but if you mean define it by what bands i'm talking about, then okay:
the casualties, red white and die, oxymoron, the adicts, the germs, be your own pet, black flag, rancid, screeching weasel, op ivy (okay, they're more ska, but i love them anyways), aaand yeah.
and of course you can't go wrong with the ramones and the clash and the sex pistols and all that.
i apologize if that's the wrong answer, and if i'm dead to you from now on, haha.
I love what you're studying, very cool.

see the last comment i posted, that's what i listen to (:
and occasionally some garage bands and grungey alternative shit.
oh! and i almost forgot about circle jerks and dropkick murphys. and a little pennywise here and there.
shame on me.
What're you, 40?
This is why we can't have nice things.
give or take 24 years.
Ha. Nice. You're good. For now.
I don't get it. Aren't there punk bands from the 2010's?
This is why we can't have nice things.
nah. Punk is dead, remember?
I thought it just smelled that way.
This is why we can't have nice things.
it always smelled that way!
It smells like teen spirit if you ask me.
Oh, you didn't! you didn't!

I got pimke-slapped!

This thread makes me giggle. I was always more into post-punk and early new wave, myself.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?

Perhaps you should introduce yourself.
