scary people
hi. i, um, put all the stuff that was supposed to go here in the biography section.
i write short stories because i'm windy and i'm working on getting it under control. i like the way a short story is like a poem if done properly, musical and spare.
my son is 15 months old (almost) and probably a kennedy through some experiment gone awry - he has red hair, changes the tv to the catholic programming, and squeezes everyone's boobs. none of that is really my husband's style.
didn't think anybody was really writing anything good in this day and age until i started reading chuck's stuff - he gave me hope that it's still a worthy cause to keep plugging along, writing it all down.
this shit makes me nervous. i'm not a cereal box.
(also i lied. squeezing boobs is sorta everyone's style, sometimes.)
Hi Eli, welcome!
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
Welcome. Your kid sounds great.

if it turns out clevenger and baer are the same person can we just stick to referring to them as "Craig Clevenger?"
it's fewer letters and is kinda alliterative.
my husband trained horses before he needed money, so i'm getting into natural horsemanship, or at least have designs on it.
i also take lotsa lotsa pictures. of anything and everything. always have the camera with me.
more recently, i've discovered zombies. the idea of life after death and immortality is so often made out to be something beautiful, the novelty of it being a horrible rotting walking braindead half-state is fascinating. there are also all these amazing make-up effects, and i do love that sort of thing. as far as i can tell, humans just really wanna fucking kill things, blow things up, fight SOMETHING, and zombies are the perfect guilt-free enemy. destruction and brutality and creative weaponry with no moral strings attached.
marriage isn't scary if you are either totally in love or totally don't give a shit about the person. anywhere in between is the Fear. i'm in love. we've been married two and a half years. how long have the two of you been together?
the kid thing is hard but a lot more fun than anybody tells you.
also, thanks for the story suggestions, i'll definately check them out. it's nice to meet you
huh, i thought when i hit reply it would attach itself to kabol's message. still figuring this out.
thanks for all the welcomes!!!

Welcome
I've always believed the opposite of this to be true
Shooting Zombies is a favourite pastime of mine when I get chance to fire up Left4Dead. However, it's much more fun to be the zombies...
"What cha readin' fer??"
what does the "abuse" button mean? is that for cyber bitch-slapping?
nathaniel parker: dead people are a much more universal target, as far as lacking moral strings. i just find it incredible that the search continues.
can we implement this feature, plz?
also, welcome!

hey, eli. welcome to the cult !
this place isnt so scary.
have you also checked out clevenger or will baer (http://chuckpalahniuk.net/features/shorts/suffer-the-fool)
they are gritty and write very fucking well
look into chuck's workshop when you are ready for feedback. that may seem scary because it is scary to get honest feedback, but it is a great way to work toward improving your craft and you get to do so around your family's schedule.
other than writing and reading chuck's books, what else do you like to do. hobbies, obsessions? how long have you been married? love it or hate it or meh ?
i'm getting married toward the end of september. we're thinking about a kid. the notion is less scary to me nowadays, though. we'll see how well those feelings hold the night of the wedding ha
anywhom. welcome to the cult and have fun and look around and ask any questions that pop into your head. just feel free to jump into whatever conversations are underway, et cetera
