Ignore the above, just messing around because I'm bored and I'm at work. Why do I still work here? Why am I still support accounting software? ACCOUNTING!? Anyway that's irrellevant right now.

This is my first post to this forum. I am a huge fan of Mr Palahniuk (see the respect, I called him "Mr."). A friend over the net told me to read his books after many fight club discussions. It started with "Choke" which is probably my favourite and now I just finished reading "Diary". I can't find my copy of "Invisible Monsters", I think I lent it to this chick, never mind.

Some sayings are stupid. They're supposed to be insightful and helpful but all they really do is confuse people in a way where they mistake the confusion with... wisdom? For example, "there's a first time for everything" That means NOTHING! So when someone asks, "hey do you wanna try some heroin?" and you say, "no thanks, I'm not too comfortable with heroin" and they say, "come on! There's a first time for everything!" SO WHAT!? Just because there is a first time for something, doesn't mean you have to do it! Sure, let's go kill people wearing tutus, fake afros with fluro green goat-tees because there's a first time for everything!

I'm kinda restless right now, I apologise for my erratic, cranky post.
You should quit, to become a lion tamer
I got fired from my last job. I love the official letter I got which stated some of the reasons why I was being terminated. "Trying to encite other staff members to resign en-mass"

I thought I'd never support accounting software ever again but after 2 solid months of unemployment, I had to head back to the teet of financial software.

In school I liked maths but HATED anything to do with money. Commerce, Economics, Accounting and the likes simply weren't for me.

I will quit one day and start... I don't know yet, when I find out I'll put it in my resignation.

I must say though, although I hate accounting software, I hated my old job way more because my bosses were pure assholes driven soley by economic gain. My boss now ain't so bad... but its accounting software.

i worked the house at a theater for a while. right before the show, i had to blink the lights and tell everybody to please take their seats and whatever.

the stage manager used to always say, "blink 'em and sink 'em!" and that was my cue. it got very annoying.
for what?
A few things.
At first, they suspected that my friends and I were smoking pot on our lunch breaks. I had a "friend" there who was a major bitch. She bitched about other employees to make herself look good. Anyway, she told the boss that during lunch, my friends and I would go smoke it up at lunch... OK so its true, we never officially got in trouble for it though because there was no proof.

Then the personal calls. I did a couple of personal calls when I should've been on the phone. It was funny because my boss sent me a recorded conversation between my friend and I. I eventually figured out how to tell if my calls were being recorded. My boss gave me an official warning for calling my dad, of all the calls, I get done for the serious one (family bullshit I had to sort out).

Then it was emails. I was told that I did 80 personal emails when they were monitoring me. These emails usually consisted of short ramblings between my friend (who sat no more than 2 metres away from me) such as,
me: mornin dom
dom: mornin mo
me: hungry?
dom: yeah
me: b&e roll
dom: yeah
me: ready?
dom: yeah lets go

Fuck I'm sorry that I can type fast!!

Then it was because I tried to make people quit. A few of my colleagues were pissed at some of the new regulations put forth by management. A lot of them came to me saying, "dude this isn't fair, we should do something" to which I replied, "dude, there's nothing you can do, just cop it sweet!"

I eventually got sick of my whiny friends and tried to plea with our boss to eleviate some of the new regulations (having to constantly wear head-sets all day long because calls were set to auto-answer, THAT SUX). When I made my honest plea, the boss had a go at me.

So I outlined some of this argument to my friend and former colleague. I was going on about hooking up a few jobs at a time because my girlfriend worked at a recruitment agency then all resigning at the same time, leaving tech support with a nice gaping karmaic hole.

The was monitoring my emails and showed me what he found. OOPS. I told him I was talking theoretically but since then, they hawked me.

They eventually fired me on a technicality. Something everyone did but I got busted for. The computer would automatically log sales instead of giving us the chance to earn commision, it never used to be like that and it wasn't fair. So I'd pend the sales anyway (and came top of sales for a few months in a row) and yeah, I got fired. I was so relieved!!

Now I get more pay, less calls, internet access (with no restriction, I even use Kazaa), better food outlets, easy travel and cool bosses with morals (which is strange in the biz world.)

Everything happens for a reason... haha

It gets better.

My boss buys lunch on fridays (hence my new found obsession with Thai cuisine) and if we make the budget, he's flying us to either Fiji, New Caledonia, or whereever for Xmas holiday.

Last year he flew all staff to Queensland.

I used to spend close to $15 a day on food at my old job in Pyrmont. Now I go to the deli and buy lunch meats and a loaf of bread. The coles deli is a bit shitty though.

Its stupid because I'd do all my work and then some. I'd get customer writing in saying, "ohhh he's a lovely boy, he helped me" etc etc.

When a customer would write a letter such as the one mentioned above, typically, that employee would be awarded with two free movie tickets. After a while, they'd ignore all compliments aimed at me.

This job is good but I can't mentally connect with anyone here.
My favourite quote came from the guy who started at the same time as me, "Bro, if you don't cheat on your girlfriend, she'll end up cheating on you bro"

Then my supervisor, sheesh, he's a tool.

Then I've got this wanna-be Jehova's Witness guy who isn't a JW but wants to be because this chicky he's trying to hook up is a JW. Now, if someone was to pursue faith, by all means go for it, but have the right reasons.

I dunno, I just can't talk to anyone here and share MY sense of humour. Then again, I'm not normal.
