Hi all-

just wanted to introduce myself to the group.
Have been reading a lot on this site lately. I am relatively new to chuck's works. Read Fight Club a few years ago, but in the last month have read Choke, Snuff, Invisible Monsters, Survivor and now I am on Haunted.

Must say I am addicted and am yet to be disappointed by chuck's works. My favorite probably being Invisible Monsters for the plot twists, but all the works have their place and have been an enjoyment to read.

Thought I would add some more background information-

I am 25 years old and currently living in melbourne, australia. Originally from adelaide which is a much smaller quiet city of australia. Almost like a country town that grew up into a city, everyone knows each other in some way or another.

Have not read a large range of fiction. I am a huge fan of horror fiction, so mostly stephen king, clive barker and anne rice.
Plans for reading so more of the classic works, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and Catcher in the Rye. Also plans for reading some of chuck's suggestions on this site.

you'll love rant !!
and jesus' son by denis johnson. chuck said he'd read that book three hundred times before writing lullaby in six weeks.

dont forget to check out the short stories available on the site as well as the recommends. also, the book club forum is filled with booktalk and recommendations.
welcome to the cult !

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendations in regards to the book club forum.

No I was not around when Anne Rice went crazy, although you have sparked my curiosity.

Planning to read either Lullaby or Rant next, I plan to read them all, hopefully in time for Pygmy.

Hello Fourth_Step!

In my opinion, both of these books are great! However, if you want to read as many of his books as possible before the release of Pygmy, I suggest you read Lullaby and wait until after Pygmy with reading Rant.

Rant is not only chuck's best work, but also the best book I've ever read. The problem is you are going to want to read it over and over so you probably want to have some time for that.

If you have the time, maybe you should read Diary before Rant since it's on the same theme as Lullaby and Haunted.

Peace

you've probably been rummaging around the site longer than I've been a member... "welcome" isn't the right word, but it's the first word that comes to mind Smile
