So--like, I'm new here.
Although, I've been a member of the WS for a few months now, I never formally introduced myself with a noob thread.
My name is Austin James Hatch, although I generally go by James. Or Austin if it's government related or semi-important. My birthday is on February 6. Hence the ghey moniker: aushatch0206.
I write using my first and middle names because, let's face it, it's the best option I have.
I am not a pornstar, but I have done extensive studies into the viewing of pornography and related masturbation habits.
I look forward to being a part of the Cult, and am excited about many fruitful encounters with all of my fellow members.

Hatch is a great last name. Austin James could be literally anyone, but Hatch is your name and it's the only distinctive part of your name. Throwing it away is throwing away an easy way to remember who you are.

I tried to write under Anthony David for a while (nixing the last name, Jacques) but I ran into the same problem I was trying to avoid by dropping the last name: having to explain things to everyone.
No one says Jacques right, and everyone thinks it's French. So I tried to avoid that conversation a million times over by dropping it. But I ended up having to explain to people I knew why I dropped the last name, so it was a wash.
Anyway, that probably doesn't add much to the present discourse of welcoming you to the place that helps the Cult earn it's name.

Point taken and it is something I will definitely consider. I have other reasons for writing as Austin James as well, albeit most will seem lame to anyone who's not me.

yeah, that's generally the way with most life choices. at the end of the day you've gotta do what makes you happy. that is until a publisher or agent discovers you're hiding a bitching real name and then make you change it.
