Hello, first post. I came here and joined this website because I have been a longtime Palahniuk fan and have recently become interested in writing. I have already reviews some pieces and have even posted a piece myself, entitled Hiatus Gone. I came here to see if I have what it takes to become a good writer.

welcome to the hard part, starting.
how's your grammar, how's your vocab ?
have you taken any writing courses before ? that's not a prerequisite or anything, btw. a lot of us started out here; i wrote my first short story after reading chuck's first essay back in janurary of 2004. since then i've reviewed at least 200 stories, submitted more than 20, have taken three courses, two through the cult but here they are called "intensives", read countless author interviews and articles on writing publishing and editing, read a dozen books on the subject and someday soon it'll all sink in. i hope. haha
welcome to the cult. read everything you can get your hands on. the workshops will be flowing again, like hardcore in the next few months. stick around and get used to the place, take these next two months as a chance to really get comfortable here. your story will get its appropriate attention in time. the whole new revamp thing isnt going as originally planned, but it's pretty, promising, and will be great soon..
