New member, first post, and a confession
I may not be dull (so she says) but I sure am dumb. A whole half an hour trying to think up a title for this thread. So, as a lurker who soaks up the snide-and-witty replies to posts, feel free to throw them at me: around here I'm not sure there's a better welcome. Thanks to those who went to college and anyone smart enough to know better.
Very well based on your quick reply, avatar, and signature.
Do you like dogs?

My head on my desk? Absolutely. If you meant you, I'll need dinner and a wedding ring first ... or a potent liquor.

Woah woah woah, I just asked if you liked dogs!

I'm only saving you on this one because you live in Florida. Xec is not the hot chick in his signature. He is actually a........
Lobster. But he is very tasty. Perhaps a taste?
Well, shit, some days I look pretty good. Most of the time I don't though.

Xec, you are my Cult hero!!!
Welcome to the Cult dude. What part of Florida do you live in? JKabol will be around shortly to ask you the important questions.
Hoorah!

That would take care of the dinner requirement. What about the liquor? ... I've never meant anyone who could have just a taste of lobster. Is he shellfish-level-addictive?

Oyster effects may be better than liquor, xec8. I live in the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area, bigshrimpn.
I have the effect of oysters...
Does that mean you have an
aphrodisiac effect or that you have a vibrio vulnificus effect?
I live in Melbourne. Florida rocks!!! Wait... that's Cleveland.
You most certainly do have me xec8. As a thank you for being the first to reply I give myself to you. Everyone who knows me will wish you luck and caution you to keep me on a short leash.

bigshrimpn, I'll have to take your word on the rockiness of Cleveland. As a dummy out of the closet I give you bonus points for using "vibrio vulnificus" in your reply, and extra points for the assumed wittiness of the comment. I can't confirm wittiness as I do not know what those words mean and looking them up would mean being even slower to reply.
xec8, let me guess, you already had the leash picked out? Can you BeDazzle it up for me?

Oh baby, ain't no leashes for you. I'm lettin' you walk beside me, and make me the envy of every man in the city.

(Hope I used the Quote button right) Clearly my earlier anxieties about becoming a member are just samples of evidence of my dulling Crayola ability. It's hot here in Florida and you and your flattery, Sir, are not helping matters.

Look at that Quote button, doing just what it says: I feel I've found a guardian angel in you bigshrimpn. I'll put that on my xec8 checklist.

Careful xec8, if you're much younger than me this may not be legal.

I thought you were seven and a half?

Xec and I do seem to have hit it off, haven't we? But I may have made a rather regrettable faux pas in my original post: just in case I mislead either of you, the she I refer to is me. I am an ovarian carrying member of the female species; but would I be correct in assuming it's every woman for herself around here too, bigshrimpn?
Xec8, if women aren't your cup of tea, I'll start looking for a surgeon straight away, if you'll forgive my mistake. I'd hate to let something as petty as gender get in the way of your flattering words and feel free to picture me as a burly lumberjack if it'll keep you wagging that sweet tongue in my direction.
Thirteen should do xec; but I'd hate to rob the priests of their seven and a half year olds.
Don't think for a second that if you were a dude me and Xec would still be in here posting.
Oh good because I'm afraid the surgeons in this part of Florida don't understand the words "No, Doctor, I want them smaller." (Actually I'm pretty sure that's a state-wide language barrier.)
Oh good because I'm afraid the surgeons in this part of Florida don't understand the words "No, Doctor, I want them smaller." (Actually I'm pretty sure that's a state-wide language barrier.)
Nationwide. Worldwide?

If not then it should only take a few Miami Ink episodes to trip up their vocabulary.

in your opinion, who has the most snide and witty replies?
How do you like me?
is that the "Dude, you're getting a Dell!" guy in your avatar?
in your opinion, who has the most snide and witty replies?

My first night and you're going for the tough questions. If I say you do I get anything shiny? (If you want some sort of serious answer all I can say is that everyone around here runs circles around me - which is so much fun to watch in short doses before I get dizzy - so I can't give you a name now. If you say something snide and witty in reply, though, I'll say you without the promise of shiny presents.)
I was just curious as to a former lurkers honest answer. I don't think any of my replies come off as particularly "snide" and 90% of them are witty only to me.

In that case I'll look around and let you know. As far as your wit is concerned I'm sure you'll find a new admirer in me. I'm easy to please and give out A's for effort.

is that you or Kirk Cameron in your avatar?
I'm back with three names for you, Mr. parker, and it hasn't even been ten minutes since my last post (nope, not quick, lazy). I went back to the posts that originally made me laugh and came up with these members: spike, jane s., and harbek (harbeck? my memory is shorter than my attention span). More wit, I think, than snide but it's hard to tell with some people being that there's no tone of voice available on the internet. Anyway, I'll have to keep looking and try to defend the wording of my first post, but thanks for taking an interest in my opinion (as meaningless as it may be) and I'll keep an eye out for your wit. (I believe there was a post of yours somewhere that talked about the excitement of boiling water and it did make me laugh even though I think you were serious. In my small world watching water can be a soothing way to pass the time.)
is that you or Kirk Cameron in your avatar?
Neither; I am female but that does look like Kirk Cameron now that you mention it! He's an actor named Wayne Wilcox. He was in a show called Gilmore Girls and the movie version of a musical called RENT (hence the avatar reference) but that's all I can recall seeing him in.
What the eff? xec found a girlfriend! Welcome.

You like musicals? I do! I haven't seen rent though, it's too depressing it seems.

Hi LeHaHi! Thanks for the welcome. I'm afraid I scared xec off but he was very charming from his first reply. As for musicals; I'm not as informed as I'd like to be. The movie version of RENT got me started; but I'm a fan of a couple others by the names of Aida and The Last Five Years. I'm up for new suggestions thought; if you have a recommendation (or twelve)! As for RENT; it definitely has it's sad moments but the message is really positive in a sappy way. I love sap. The live version is even better than the movie, though, in my opinion, if you ever get a chance to see it.
well, since you asked...
I loved Wicked, saw that in Denver. Sad, but fun at the same time. Really deep friendship aspect.
I saw Spamalot in London a couple weeks ago, and it's now touring in America. It's soo great, and funny, you have to see it.
I love the Producers, and this summer I'm seeing Young Frankenstein, Mel Brooks' new musical in Seattle. It'll be really fun.
I think you should stick around here. You don't seem nearly as retarded as Nate Parker. He thinks European toliets flush the other way! hahahahaha!
tell us more about yourself. Did you ever say your age? You're a chick, we got that. What else?

It's possible he (or she) doesn't post much; I just chuckled out loud at what I read. And, no, I'm not bigshrimpn's myspace message girl. He did, however, look out for me when I first posted this thread to make sure xec didn't scare me off.

You should check out Moulin Rouge. Everyone will tell you it sucks, but don't listen to them.
Not to be discouraging or anything but you're doing a lot of posting for the first day. You're not going to be a "shooting star" cultist and burn fast and hot for one day only to disappear into the aether the next, are you?
