New
Hey, I'm new here, though I've been reading Chuck for a few years now. My favourites of his novels are Haunted and Invisible Monsters, but I read each of his works with the same interest and passion. In terms of movies, I like dramas and generally those who raise questions or give me more than the emotional reaction, they somehow have to work on a psychological level as well. Musically *very* eclectic, just like in every other thing I do.
Yes, Vera Drake was a fine movie. I haven't seen Brideshead Revisited or Revolutionary Road, but I'll get them as soon as I can.
Hey you! Welcome to The Cult.
I'm very curious about this eclectic taste in music of yours.
Well I listen to dubstep, trip hop, ambient, alternative, hip hop, rock and drum and bass, some of my favourite artists being Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack and Placebo. But I'm always open to discovering new subgenres, bands or tracks, so any recommendation is welcome
I had a girlfriend called Irina many years ago. She believed she was a witch.

Awesome. And wasn't she?
I only believe I'm your everyday random girl who doesn't stand out in a crowd until she starts to speak

You're from Bucharest, then? I went there last Christmas. It was cool.

that's interesting, usually people hate it. the noise, the dirt, the mix of old and new.. but i'm a die-hard fan of my hometown, i'm glad when i see others who liked it \m/
You know why I like you? Because one of your favorite books is Boris Vian's Foam of the Daze. Now THAT wins me over. I love that novel.

Welcome to the Cult!
Foam on the daze is the most heartbreakingly beautiful novel I have ever read, and it's like that perfect boyfriend kind of thing, everything afterwards seems great, but is just not that good. I'll always compare any love story to it, but nothing can be better than Foam on the Daze.
Hello and I LOVE YOU. I love all of those genres and Portishead, Tricky and MA are some of my fave artists! I don't know many girls who like dubstep though, what dubstep artists are you into? I recently saw Joker & Ginz awooo.
I'm sure you've heard of them, but I cannot advocate Venetian Snares enough!
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
I saw Joker and both Borgore and Tomba two weeks ago, they freaking rocked the place! I like Benga, Skream, Bar 9, 16 Bit, Burial, Cookie Monsta, Caspa, Plastician, DatsiK, Loefah, Kode9, MarchMellow, Skism, Stagga and a very good Romanian artist, TRG, who mixed in some of the greatest European clubs. Oh, and Venetian Snares are amazing for those moments of illusion and mental hypnosis, if you do get my hint
.
'Bombing Bastards' and/or 'Smoking Beagles' have been playing in my head nonstop for the last couple days, oddly enough. Thought you should know.
And you're the 1st person I've encountered who's even heard of Placebo, save for a girl working in a CD store many, many years ago.
Welcome!
would anybody tell me if i was gettin'... stupider?
I swear 90% of the names in our unused band names threads are better than actual band names that bands use nowadays.

Welcome!
Bombing Bastards is one of my favourite of his tracks, check Hell Is Around The Corner too, that's mind-blowing.
Thanks.

did you like revolutionary road? Or Brideshead Revisited? Or Vera Drake?
