Never been good at this, but..
I've already posted, so I guess I ought to introduce myself.
My name's Henrik. I'm fourteen and I live in Norway. I pretty much only read fantasy, though I'm going to try some new genres when I'm done with the Lord of the Rings.
You're probably wondering how I discovered this page at all given the above information. Truth is, my English teacher showed it to me along with the Fight Club movie (which made me want to read some of Chuck's work).
I also write a bit, although I'm decent at best.

Nope. All in all I haven't read very much, I suppose. Not all authors get their books translated to Norwegian, and I only recently started to read English books (we're talking about months here).
If you highly recommend him, though, I'll look into it.

Your teacher sounds great. Did he/suggest which Palahniuk to read first? If not, let me suggest SURVIVOR. It's excellent and will be fairly easy to read in English.
Yes, Survivor is a great book!
Robert Jordan has some long winded sentences, but his stuff blows Tolkien out of the water (in my opinion).
