My Intro....
Hello cult! Just thought I should introduce myself since I've been lurking here for a while just thought that I should sign up and add my thoughts to the discussions here. In all honesty I am not much of a reader but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy a good book. I have read most of Chuck's work and enjoy reading his books. That doesn't mean that is all I read though. So, yeah that's a bit about me.
I was never much of a reader either before this place. You should check out some of the book club discussions and there's a few threads with book recommendations to start your new reading quest.
Welcome. New thoughts would be highly appreciated around here.
Which threads did you lurk?
Hi there. I've been lurking for awhile also. I knew I wasn't the only one, but it's always a pleasure to forum with others. (:
Look up into the stars and you're gone.
Thanks for the welcomes and yeah it's Alison Brie and I'll be sure to check out those threads and I mostly lurked the book discussion threads.
What's your favorite book?
From Chuck? Invisible Monsters or Lullaby. In general, the LotR Trilogy
Pizza or Chinese food?
Pizza, I hate fish so most Chinese food I hate.

What'd I say?
What's your name and social security number?
I mean, what should I should I call you.
Oh and I'm Jessica.
That should make that question slightly less weird.
What'd I say?
By fish are you including seafood in that? Because although, fish is found in Chinese food, not all of it is fish based. Chinese food does deal with a good amount of seafood, though. I was just curious.

My real name is Fernando and nice to meet you Jessica.

Yeah I was. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Chinese food is sushi but yeah I don't hate all Chinese food. I mean I love the noodles and the chicken.
Welllll sushi isn't Chinese but it's nice to meet you anyway. I suppose.
Sushi =/= Chinese. There might be a person or two that will come reprimand you for making that generalization.

Oh my bad Japanese food. I had no idea.
It's offensive to my people, man.
I'm just kidding. When I think of Chinese food I think of beef and broccoli and fortune cookies. That's probably worse.
No Jess, Taco Bell is offensive to your people!
Especially, since she isn't Mexican!

All the Mexicans, Spanish, Latinos, they all look the same!
I think you are confusing us with Asians.

White people all look the same. Can you honestly tell an American from an Englishman from a Canadian? I can't.
Nah but they do all sound kind of similar. Kind of.
Also, I never eat Taco Bell. It's not a matter of disliking it, I just never buy fast Mexican food. Never tried it and don't really have an desire to. Except for Jack in the Box tacos. And those don't really count, I don't think. I mean, they're like breakfast burritos. They don't even pretend to try.

Nobody orders Chinese food and gets fish. I like fortune cookies. One time there was an extra fortune cookie and nobody knew what to do with it. It wasn't anyone's fortune so we knew it wouldn't come true and nobody eats the cookie for the cookie. The cookie is like a punishment you have to eat or your fortune won't come true. Chicken, though. Chicken and rice, chicken chow mein. Chicken balls.
I never bother with the fortune cookies, usually. The one time I was recently going to eat one, the wrapper was empty. Completely sealed, but cookieless. I should've taken that as a warning back then. Now when I get cookies I give them to the dog. His fortune isn't much better.

!
You can't give the responsibility of having a fortune to a dog.
You have a point.

They certainly do not. You can't tell an American from an Englishman?!
Norwegians don't look like the Dutch, who don't look like the Germans, who don't look like the English, etc etc.
You can kind of educatedly guess... but do they not have half Dutch half German kids?
It's easier to tell by the way someone dresses. And talks, obviously. But if we're just judging by appearance... you can pretty much tell a Mexican guy who lives in the US from a Mexican guy who lives in Mexico. And most countries have their own weird fashion quirks at any given time.
What do you mean?

As an American, I find the world's love of the Speedo to be the worst thing about leaving this country. Worst than the airport. Worst than exotic diseases.
My Dad used to wear Speedos in the 90s. Luckily he grew out of it.
...ok that sounds wrong.

I think it's probably much harder in the states because most people are not really "just german" or "just norwegian". You're more likely to find people who come from families that have lived in Germany or Norway for a long time than you are to find that in America. And even if you do, they came from those countries. That's just me though.
I did an actual LOL.
I did an actual LOL.
Ditto! Haha.

Of course, I realize that. But yeah, not being able to see the differences doesn't mean there are no differences.
EDIT_
Hattie, that was great, ahaha.
EDITEDIT_
Since my original post, I've wondered if Mike was just being silly, in which case I completely missed the point and seem like a twat. n_n
I'm rather silly at times..
There are body types in the US that you don't find in Europe.

I can't wait to not find them there.
I can't wait to not find them there.
I'm sure they're there too (probably not as many though).
I have visited quite enough European states, and no, they're not. You do see the occasional obese person, but that's like once a day. If any.
It's not just obese people. There is also the giant black basketball player type, or the thick-but-surprisingly-athletic-cop type, for example.

You have way more credibility than I (I've only travelled throughout the US and into Canada) but--this is going to sound terrible--I've seen overweight people in European movies, television, and other limited media. I'm guessing they're there. Not as prevalent as in the US but they had to have come from somewhere. But, again, all I have is conjecture while you actually know what you're talking about.
All the Americans and Englishmen and Canadians are white! The others are invaders. Those dirty invaders.

<3 Alison Brie. (I think thats her in your avatar)
Welcome.
