looking for a Goooood time
Hello everyone im Joe and i obviously new to the cult. I must say i feel a bit awkward as i sit here typing this. I just wanted to get myself out there and say a quick hello to everyone. I must say i have been spying on all of your posts for quite awhile. All the threads are always interesting as well as fun to read even the most mediocre post has some of the most thought out responses. Yeah, so ive read all of chuck's published work my favorite book would have to be.......Survivor. However i did enjoy invisible monsters, so in a way its a tie between the two. Also i currently teach (assistant) a 12th grade english class at the high school i attended 3 years ago (which is weird after complaining how much i never wanted to go back there after i finally got out) its a satisfying job i also attend a local community college where i take various classes mostly literature, education, and any writing classes they have to offer because im not in a degree program i pick and choose classes. In conclusion im excited about the Choke production but enough about me lets talk about me.

Uh-oh, is this another (one of the many, possibly fictional) Cult Stalker(s)?
Stalking is so easy nowadays guy, you've gotta be careful about what you say!
hey, joe. welcome. it's a toss up for me as well, between IM and Survivor. i go back and forth with them as my favorite chuck read.

punctuation is something i teach i just dont use it on the internet because after a day of teaching it to 12th graders you just get burnt out and frustrated. I also knew after rereading my post i was gonna get a stalker
comment and please dont get me started on lindsey lohan for her i may be a stalker :sgrin:
Punctuation is passe
all you really need is exclamation points and question marks
I just wish we could get an INTERROBANG!?
don't get me started on capitalization!
You people make me sick.
Or made up words. I was impressed with the creation of "Lunchcore".
The other day I saw a sign that called a walking trail an 'exer-trail'.
Welcome. Please create a new word when you have time.

I always hated how in school, or in any writing seminar class the teacher would be concerned only with punctuation. To me, that wasnt what was important. I always wanted to know, how was my story idea? Or what do you think of my charicters? My ending? So on and so on. Did anyone else feel this way? Basically like your story ideas in general were ignored because of punctuation errors?
Proper spelling, grammar and punctuation are all part of articulating yourself properly. So no, I never felt that way.
Hello and Welcome,
Enjoy your stay,
As for punctuation mine sucks and English is practically my first language.

Morey pretty much said it true, punctuation is important so you can time your reader's reading of a sentence. It's there to help you. Welcome to the cult anyway, take care and join in!
Yeah your right, i just always assume that im the one thats going to be reading my own story to someone else. As opposed to them actually reading it for themselves. While assuming this i always knew how my story was supposed to sound regardless of punctuation. Nonetheless though the story idea and puctuation are of course equal.
Not true. The story is everything. The punctuation is important when you're not reading it out.
I guess your entitled to your opinion. But if the puctuation makes the story read wrong at certain times then the story is potentially ruined because the message you may have been trying to get across is blurred now. Therefore i say they're equal
Dumbass, I'm not even gonna argue. You should go give birth in an Art Gallery.
ok..........i wasnt asking you to argue. If i was i wouldve made a sly remark like you when i start a sentence. But since you provoked me i have a question. Does the Stanza club or society or whatever the fuck it is make you feel special enough to call someone a dumbass? Respect your elders son.
there should be a comma after "elders"
The Stanza Society? What a strange thing to say!
Damn it! Comma after elders i knew it.
Just so anyone who comes into this thread knows, i wasnt trying to argue with the kid. I was just trying to make conversation.
I blame xec8
Punctuation?! what a stupid way to steer a thread towards!!

Do you teach people about punctuation?
Welcome. Would you like some lobster?
thanks for sharing.blackhawk tactical pants.
