Just Me
I'm Mae, 19 from Sacramento, California.
I got into Chuck after I saw Fight Club. I was told it was a book and I wanted to read it. I actually ended up reading Lullaby first and fell in love. I really want to see Lullaby turned into a movie. I made a bookmark for Lullaby. Check it out.

Let's see....Pretty much my favorite books are listed in my profile. I don't think I missed any. I have a passion for the classics. My high school required that you read 72 books from a reading list they gave us in order to graduate. I'm very thankful for that requirement, even if I did skim a few of those books.
I have two dogs. They are both Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mixes. I'm not much of a cat person, but they can be great if they really love people.
My hobbies: night bike rides, looking down from high places, trying new things, listening, going shooting, going to hockey games, learning, going thrifting, blowing bubbles, going to shows, meeting new people, water balloon fights, drinking iced tea, collecting old books...hmm, that's all I can think of for the moment.
Hope that tells ya at least a little bit of who I am.
Also, I spent last semester in MI at Spring Arbor University, but transferred back home...have you heard of it?

Oh, I almost forgot! Yes...you must read it, are you a Christian? Jewish? Either way you will love it, especially as someone who loves art.

I'm sorry I missed you while you were in the state. You seem like someone fun to walk and talk with. I have in fact heard of Spring Arbor, I considered finishing my psych degree there before I decided to pursue freelance photography and design to see how I'd do.
And yes, I love Jesus. I think it's sad the connotations Christian carries these days, but I try to follow his example of love as best I can and hope people see through labels.
If you're ever in town again lets go thrifting together.
Who would win in a fight, Blue or Green?
*waits with bated breath for the answer to a very important question*
you cut right to the heart of things, eddy.

I'm sorry too, that is a shame. I'm definitely up for thrifting next time I'm in MI. Maybe in the fall.
It's encouraging to find another Christian that enjoys books such as the ones Palahniuk writes. So many of them wont read, watch, or listen to anything not specifically "Christian."

I'm not guna lie...I don't know what this is referring to and am feeling very ignorant. Or is it purely a question as to which I think might win?
Hmmm...if it's the latter, I say green.

That is a real shame. I enjoyed a lot of Palahniuk's writing because he buried some decent gems in them. Not a lot of Christians would touch Choke for fear of the sex addicts! Oh no! But there was beauty in the crumbling redemption of Victor Mancini.
I think that's one of the central themes I enjoyed while I was reading his books, people taking very bad, grim situations and trying to turn them into something better for them, even in destruction.
Which would you rather be, a talking dolphin or a flying monkey?
And christians get a bad wrap. There's nothing wrong with them in my book. And, i mean, there's loads of incredible literature that's mostly christian or at least by christians. Check out Graham Greene, Dostoevsky, Melville, and the like. Christians have historically made incredible art.

A talking dolphin. I'm afraid of deep water, but if I was a dolphin, that wouldn't matter.
That's true, they have made great art. The main problem now is that they can't accept anything "secular" as art. I'm definitely generalizing. I know not all Christians have that mindset considering I am one. Just a little disheartening to see the ones that do.

i like the way you think. very progressive.
you're making a peanut butter sandwich, what do you include if anything, and do you do anything fancy with the bread?
Thank you.
I include bananas and honey. There is only one piece of bread and it's toasted. If I was in a hurry I wouldn't toast it. I would merely fold the bread over.

Oh, how I was hoping for honey and toasted bread! Bonus points for the bananas.
This concludes your Cultie Sandwich Certification, I'll stamp your application approved; expect a copy in the mail for framing or to keep for your records in the future. You may snack with me freely from here on out.
haha, wonderful! I'll be sure to display it proudly.

Thank you for the introduction, Alberto!
Hi Tay, and thank you.
Is that really your tattoo? I have one kind of behind my ear on my neck and it didn't hurt, but that one looks like it would be very painful.

Only the nicest guy you'll ever talk to!

Derek is a wonderful lad. You'll love him. Just try not to get frustrated because try as you might, you'll never get his lucky charms.
hmmm...I'll keep that in mind.

Not Derek again! I thought that guy was long gone.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Did somebody say Derek three times?
Yes, while standing before a mirror in a dark bathroom.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Oh shit! Derek's coming!
ewwwwwww!
all over her face!
And like her make-up, this thread is ruined.
Welcome, anayway.

Welcome Mae, I said hello in someone else's thread and now I get to do it again but just to you this time, shit, now I'm all confused.
Eddy, the who would win in a fight, blue or green, is the answer no one because they would both be yellow and back out?
There are no pacts between lions and men.

Hi Mae
Welcome to the family.
I commented my love of that bookmark in the other thread. Glad you made a post in the new members welcome section.
