just another new kid
So hi. I'm Mackenzie, and since I'm posting in the "New Member's Welcome Center" I think what I'm trying to accomplish is pretty obvious. Just trying to establish myself, find my footing, make some friends, you know how it is. So send me a message or add me as a friend or whatever one does on this website to make contact, I'm friendly.
Hey Mackenzie, welcome! What kind of music do you listen to?
Welcome.
I was in the same boat last night, Skygrotto .. I was actually about to sign onto this again but my power went out haha. There was a tornado warning in my area so that was kind of cool. And Imke, I listen to a little bit of everything, mostly alternative/indie kind of stuff. How about you? Also thank you for the welcome, rosiemoonjumper!
Did I say hi yet? Hi
Hi!
Que que?
Hi Mackenzie. I'm Jessica. You're probably the youngest person who's posted lately.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Who got you into Chuck Palahniuk?
What's your favorite song? And also, what's your favorite book?
Do you remember Shaggy?
It wasn't me!
It was Mr Bombastic!
Say me fantastic!

I guess I never realized that Shaggy's lyrics in that song barely make any sense. lmao
Welcome! What's your favourite Chuck book? Do you speak French, too?
My favourite Chuck book is Haunted, I love it! It kept me sane on holiday with my dad haha. I speak a little bit of French, not a lot.
As for what got me into Chuck Palahniuk, a friend of mine told me it was a huge disgrace that I hadn't seen Fight Club, so I watched it, and my mind was blown, so I read it, and my mind was even MORE blown, so I read more, and here I am haha. When I grow up I'd like to work in theatre, maybe as a stage manager. And yeah I've noticed that pretty much everyone on this site is way older than me...
Yesss, another Haunted-lover! ^5
Guts was the most disgusting story I've ever read haha. I read it on the city bus and I almost vomited. It was good though. I think my favourite of the short stories in Haunted was Lady Baglady's, I can't remember the name of it...

I haven't even read Haunted... or Rant... talk about disgraceful.
By the way, I knew you were youngish because I clicked on your profile thing to see how many posts you had. I just realized that might have been creepy. How do decent people behave around minors on the internet? I don't even.
But anyway, you seem alright kid. Non-idiotic 10th graders are probably hard to find ever since I got that 12th credit. I wonder if that still made sense in Canadian. I wonder if that made sense outside of Texas.
Also, the quote button works and my Shaggy question may have seemed silly but it was actually quite serious. Alternatively, do you remember System of a Down?

Look at you all growed up

lol wut?

Sure but then you'd have to read Invisible Monsters already.
I am. But I also spent a significant portion of my late teens on this website and now I'm uncomfortable talking to people younger than me. I want to keep her away from the DDT and MGCMF,ALI and the HDTMYF threads (and spell inappropriate things out around her but I think she's alright at spelling so acronyms it is).
You need 12 credits to become a junior! Or something like that. I was like 5 credits ahead so I didn't pay attention to REQUIREMENTS.
/mediocre boast
^5
... not gonna lie though, I was young and clueless enough on my own that if I didn't have an older sibling, the odds are high that I'd say... system of what now?
That story didn't do much for me at all. I am however a huge fan of some of the other stories.
You don't have to steer me away from inappropriate things haha. I go to public high school (and I read Palahniuk) so I've got a pretty solid grasp on all things scandalous. As for System of a Down, I'm not too familiar with their music, but they're not before my time, same with Shaggy. And it's okay to have lurked my profile, I'm not creeped out
Minors on the internet can be treated like overage people, I don't think its that big of a deal.
We don't really do the twelve-credit thing here. You just need a certain number of credits to graduate...that number escapes me...I want to say 30 but I think I'm wrong...
I'm glad I "seem alright", wouldn't want to be just an annoying kid on a site of seemingly very cool people!

If you're dodging lightning and tornadoes and dancing between raindrops tonight, you're probably near me. In my city, we had an earthquake today or yesterday, whichever, no one I knew felt it.
