It all Started with Invisable monsters
Hello, My name is Jessica. My Chuck appreciation/obsession happened a few years back. I was staying with a friend of mine, who was a partier. I'm not much of a partier...i would rather be bored...I know i'm not very interesting, oh well.
But while sulking in a corner, some guy I've never met in my life started talking to me. We started talking of books, and asked if i've read anything by Chuck, sadly the answer was "no". The next day he showed up with a copy of Invisible Monsters. Frweaking amazing. Since than I became an avid reader of CP. I judge every book i read now because my standards got set so high from him.
I didnt see this thread and i allready posted in acoulpa other ones...oops.
I am computer illiterate, it'd be really cool if someone could help me with the display picture thing, all that stuff about pixels confuses me.
I read threads every day for quite awhile now, and never posted anything, i was afraid I would sound stupid and people would be mean...but I'm over it now, and hoping i can make some friends on here.
Holy poop...I'm terrified now. Oh geez, I'm gunna get eaten
click on your name in that little box on the upper left, then click on the yellow EDIT tab; should take you to where you need to go.

I don't know how to do that. Told ya i was slow with computers. Yes i know it's sad.
click under the reply box, where it says file attachments and upload it to here. I'll resize it.

I guess it's the wrong type of image. a bitmap? or something like that. i dont know if thats changeable
try saving it to aa a jpeg.

You can go to Paint, open it up and then save it as jpg or gif to get it to work if you want. Otherwise, just pick something that will work.
ummm...what? I don't have an idea what youre talking about. It's not that big of a deal i guess, but thanks guys for trying to help me. I feel like an idiot at the moment. My brain is freaking out. I was scared to start posting because I was afraid to sound like an idiot, yet somehow i still ended up in stupidland.
just put something in there that fits so that you can start getting an idea of how it works. Then as you figure more out you can resize, reshape whatever you want to put in there. Baby Steps!
make it easy on yerself - just describe how you look and then let everyone elses imaginations do the rest. Sorted.

The plan is to move to Chicago, and try it there but plans don't always work out.
Thanks for the tip, My birthday is saturday and i was thinking about getting a book, I just didn't know what.

yeah that will be all sorts of interesting. I can see it now..the voice over "The computers of her time, her generation... blah blah blah...stupidity...and cookies"
I didnt think of what to put in the quote...
i'd watch the film for the cookies, if it were well done.
the cookies would need a good soundtrack though!

hey, jessica. welcome to the cult. anything technical, you can ask nate. and i definitely trust berto's tastes in books. mostly nates, too. mostly.
if you are looking for great book recommends and for chillax friends, you'll find them here. get to know the forum. the bookclub, the features of the site, the trades and promotions area.. you'll learn your way about in no time. plus learn about computers while youre at it haHA
ps- yeah, stay away from bitmap. the files are fucking huge and really strain resources. keep with jpeg if you wanna keep quality in the picts and gif if you just wanna use the pict on the internets. these are things you will get to know on a website, no worries.
see you on the boards.
pss- invisible monsters is one of my favorite chuck books !!
hell of a rollercoaster ride hahahaha
