indescribable
i read my first Chuck Palahniuk about 3 years ago. I fell in love with his writing instantly. It may seem weird to say, but his writing is so beautiful, so intense that it hurts to read. I have since read all of his books...and each time I knew this was the work of the most talented writer i may ever have the pleasure of experiencing. He is my first inspiration, as a writer, and a person I consider so unique and indescribable. His work is brilliant.
This site is somewhat overwhelming, getting the chance to meet people who respect the words that he writes as much as I do. Hopefully meeting people who will inspire and critique and give me some amazing insight...as I do not have many people who believe in writing, words, the quality of creating something so amazing you sit and just try to comprehend once you have read it. Im not quite sure what else to say that someone else has not already said, or thought, or spoke...
Also: Welcome aboard!
Thank you...for the welcome...
i have to agree...absolutely has introduced me to some amazing writers. Maybe i am partial to him...I love raw. Maybe I havent read enough raw...and I just think he is what I want and need.
What was your least favorite.....
it's tough to say. Snuff was pretty awful and Pygmy I bought, but the thought of it sounded so terrible I couldn't bring myself to even read it.
This next one he's coming out with sounds like it might be okay though.
I cant lie, I did enjoy snuff. I liked its vulgarity. Plot wise...the depths of the character, I was a little disappointed. I had the most difficult time getting through Pygmy. It took me forever and I never understood why. Its one of his books that I will probably never pick back up..
Pygmy sucked so bad people in China skipped summer camp in the US.
However Survivor was so awesome people wanted to hijack planes and shit.

ah, totally loved Survivor. I'm in the process of reading Invisible Monsters right now. For the third time. I am really wanting something new and just perfect. Anyone have any suggestions....

hey thanks, appreciate it... I'm from Oklahoma and the selection of books I come across is just terrible, normally so its nice to be able to have some options.
Get one of those fancy new Invisible Monsters t shirts!
This next one he's coming out with sounds like it might be okay though.
You should read Pygmy. It has interesting things to say the least. It wasn't the worst book, and I enjoyed it more than Snuff. Operative me.
Good arms vs bad arms will win hands down.

Personally, I don't care much for Chuck's work anymore. Certainly not his last two/three books, but he is definitely the greatest gateway drug author into getting people to find other better books and that's no small feat!
