But I have a feeling you guys are going to kick my ass no matter what I say, and I accept that, thank you very much in advance. Smile

I read Invisible Monsters when I was about fourteen after listening to the song Time to Dance by Panic! at the Disco and being overcome with curiosity as to what the hell that song could possibly be about, as if you've never read the book the song makes no sense at all.
After reading Invisible Monsters I felt like I had been properly scarred at a young enough age and later found a nice Palahniuk section in the city library and went on to read Lullaby, which my mom also read, she got hooked as well.

For my birthday last weekend (I turned seventeen on the twentieth) we went to a book store and found all of the books from Chuck that our library didn't carry and bought them, I'm currently reading Pygmy.

I like to write and Chuck has definitely had a massive impact on my writing style and changed my way of thinking in general, which is something I love. I've been working on a possible novel for about a year now, I scrapped the first draft completely and started over recently with the same characters and plot but a completely different story. I like it better this way.

That's all I can really think to say right now, I look forward to sharing this experience with you all Smile

Hello! Welcome! Be sure not to just emulate Chuck when you write. Just take what works for you.

I'm not going to kick your ass. Yet.

I might only kick your ass for making me feel old, but I think I'll wait until I'm not a newb before I do.

I trick myself by saying younger and younger audiences are becoming familiar with things such as this, while in reality I was around 15 when I discovered Palahniuk, which was more than a decade ago.

At least now I know Panic! at the Disco did something good. Welcome!

What does your screen name mean? I get the "For the scars" part, but I can't make heads or tails out of "tyls."

Is that from anything in particular? I was thinking it might be lyrics from a Sum 41 song but I think they're "You should thank your lucky stars and count your fading scars". Meh!

It's actually a mixture of two Fall Out Boy lyrics. "you can thank your lucky stars everything I wished for will never come true" and "we only do it for the scars and stories"
I listen to incredibly bad music.

Meh usually doesn't lend itself to having an exclamation point follow it. Very unique use of the word.

Why thank you. It was a combination of complete apathy and an attempt to feign enthusiasm/frustration.

This is one of the most helpful resources you will probably find as a writer. As it gives you unlimited access to Chucks essays whilst being a premium member. Also the people in the workshop only want to see others improve.

So what i'm trying to say is, stop talking about the card and start spendin' it!

Okay, okay, I'll get right on it!

Also, Imke, I don't care a bit, but I hate having people tell me about how much they hate my favorite bands, so I normally just try and let people know that I'm already aware that they don't like my music. Call it a defense mechanism?

No need for nervousness. Just do it. Trust me, your stuff can't possibly be any worse than anything I've submitted. People are really cool and helpful when it comes to reviews.

When you do reviews to gain points, do good ones. Not short half-assed ones.

Thanks for the confidence!
Right now I just have my best friend and my mom reading anything and they don't know too much about reviewing and criticizing so I am excited to get other people's opinions.

Absolutely. I haven't gotten around to reading anything yet though, I haven't had my computer for a few weeks so I've been busy typing up everything that I wrote by hand

Hahaha, I see Mike has told you about me.

I was gonna say "LET'S BE FRIENDS" but you called Fall Out Boy "incredibly bad" and unless you mean "incredibly amazing" I'm gonna have to take back my friendship offer.

Welcome, though. (;

Nononono, LET'S BE FRIENDS because calling Fall Out Boy incredibly bad was me referring to how other people feel about them. I think they're holyshit amazing.

Where is Bossier? Is it a joke place, or a real place? You never can tell.

Uhm...
I'm incredibly into music, I play guitar suckishly and also the bass, I aspire to move to Vegas as soon as I turn 18 a pursue a dream to be a DecayDance label artist, or work somewhere in that field. I want to work at Johnny and Harry's as a pastry chef to pay rent, but I don't even know if Johnny and Harry's needs pastry chefs.
I'm taking a college course for Culinary Arts, but we're newbs so we clean everything and scoop potato salad into perfect little bowls...
Also, I love ampersands, but I forget to use them.
I don't think that was as much "odd" things, as it was just my life story, but I couldn't think of anything really odd that was interesting except maybe the ampersand thing, so this is awkward.
