If I could think of a clever title
people might be more inclined to read this. Sorry.
I rarely post in the new members part of forums, but I guess there's a first for everything.
I'm Alicia. uh-leesh-uh. I am not hispanic so don't even think it.
I've been reading chuck palahniuk's work slowly for the past few years and stumbled across this forum recently. I'm not entirely sure why I joined here because I don't think I have much to say, but it seemed like a good idea last night while fighting a sinus headache I've had for almost an entire week now.
I'm wouldn't consider myself even a minor literary critic. I liked Pride and Prejudice and was very happy at the end. I would say what happens, but for those people who haven't read it, not that you can't see it coming, it might ruin the suspense. (Not that I believe too many people plan to read P&P in their spare time other than to say that they have.)
What else do people say in these things that would be relevant?
Oh, I don't normally sound so stupid. There.
:spankme: I have also been staring at this almost the whole time I have been typing. Thanks for putting it there.
I think that Mr. Darcy is a likeable character. I think he's my favorite part. Crude, honest, but loving, I guess.
Hello and Welcome,
Are you tnababe?
What other authors do you like?
Are you a cat or a dog person? ( cat is the correct answer )
why would your name being Alicia make anyone think you're hispanic? I mean I could see Maria or something.
also, why are you so violently opposed to our thinking it

all females want to DO Darcy. For some reason.
So hello. Me Thag. You wear flip-flops? I do, when the weather is right. The dude in Children of Men had to when he lost his shoes and none of the available replacement shoes were big enough. He had to wear flops. I think marines are all issued flip-flips. Either red or blue. In Full Metal Jacket, the Matthew Modine character and the Cowboy dude were wearing them when they mopped the latrine, which is where later the Vincent DiNofrio or whatever guy blows his head off and also shoots that loud annoying guy from Mail Call on the History Channel. "Don't change the channel!!! Stay tuned for more Mail Call!!!"
and I think Samurais might wear some form of flip-flop as well.
when I was watching that Children of men and that scene came on I totally pointed at the screen and yelled "Flip flops!"

It's because of that part in the BBC movie where Colin Firth dives into the lake. Ohmuguh.
There is hope, but not for us.

what?
I'm not sure I can pick certain authors. I don't think I read enough.
Dog, sorry. =D

Well immediately when people see me, they think I'm hispanic, but i'm chinese/irish. Then they pronounce it like I am.. and I think it's ugly. Sorry to the spanish language, but.. bleh.
Also, I just randomly thought about it. I've never mentioned it before.

I rarely wear flip-flops. I felt so bad for Clive Owen's character because of his feet getting messed up all the time.
I would DO darcy, but not because of Colin Firth. I don't think he's that attractive. Plus, I've never seen him in the lake scene.
Im 100% Irish, can we be friends?
I do hope so. If you can look past me being a dog lover.

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book, mostly because it always ends so happily. It's like coming home to a warm homemade loaf of bread.
There is hope, but not for us.
