"I Steal From Chuck" or "Hello, World"
I am not a thief.
However, I have stolen more from Mr. Palahniuk than any other person or store, etcetera, in my collected life. I don't buy his books. I read them in (insert book chain) in a sitting. And then leave. Like a bandit.
I joined this community as a kind of confessional booth--Mr. Palahniuk at least deserves some mindless pea-soup-style spamming from me.
My name is Sunday. Talk to me, I'm lonely.
I can't read a book in a bookstore. Who wants to be around people for that long?
Welcome!
I stole Fight Club in almost that exact same way. I knew an employee at the bookstore, went looking for Fight Club, she handed it to me and said, "See ya at the apartment." I figured she was gonna ring it up later using her employee discount. But she just returned it the next day.
You oughta try your bookstore scam at a pharmacy. See if it works the same way.
No one has the right to teach us stuff we don't want to learn. That's what our Bill of Constitution's all about.
what books have you read and what did you like about them.. ?
what was your fav, thus far..
survivor and IM are mine, at the moment. im really interested in his next book, Snuff. cant wait to play with that one. the next dark little book . haha
and hey, welcome to the cult !!!

play hard, like it's work to be done.
Hi Sunday. I admire people who have the balls to just sit down and read a book in a bookstore. In my local chain the employees pounce on people in the chairs who are reading. And they pounce on the people in the chairs who are doing nothing. I think breathing counts as a felony when it's done in the chairs. A larger chain (not local) revealed who I dream of being one day: A girl sitting in a bookstore aisle, eating Taco Bell, and reading. (Although her messy fingers made me feel bad for all those clean book pages.) Welcome.
I worked at a book/movie/music store and I did the same things. I would read on the job, watch movies on the job, borrow books like it was the library, and take movies and music home and copy it then bring them back. It was a sweet job.
And welcome to The Cult. I've never met anyone named Sunday before. Are you named after the day or the dessert? Or neither?

isnt the dessert spelled "sundae?"
maybe his parents were hippies?
Sunday, Sundae - its only one letter difference. My parents spelled my middle name wrong, so now I have a very unique one. I googled it and all I found were accounts and my myspace page under it. It was supposed to be Melisande of "Pelleas and Melisande", but they spelled it Melisondre instead of Melisande. I love my middle name. I'm trying to get people to call me by it instead of my first name, but its an uphill battle.

Fucking thief!!! No lobster for you!
When it comes to Sundae vs. Sunday...I actually saw something interesting about this on the history channel (I believe). So, back in the day when ice cream was new, they used it in soda (as in a float) but soda was, at the time, considered to have affects similar to alcohol. The church even went as far as to "outlaw" the consumption of soda (especially on sundays). SO, they came up with the sundays to sell on sunday when soda was not to be used. It became so popular that they decided to sell it everyday of the week but changed the name to Sundae to differentiate it from the day of the week. WOW, that was random but seemed somehow on topic.
I dare one of those valued employees to pounce upon me while I read! I dare them!
Half the problem is that I am not the target for book thievery. I am too innocent looking.
In the Holy Chairs of the bookstore, I have read:
Lullaby
Invisible Monsters (my personal favorite)
Rant
Haunted
Choke
Next to read Survivor.
God love Chuck, but I won't pay 14 dollars for a book I can finish in two hours.
...oh, and Sunday like the day. Fascinating ice cream story. I am a girl.
no way. Sunday? I don't beleive that.
It doesn't matter though, becuase you are cool anyway! we've had good luck with new cultists these past couple weeks. Welcome! How old?

Hello and Welcome Sunday
What other authors do you like?
Cat or Dog person?
Enjoy Your stay.
The only author for me is Daniel Handler. (See book "Adverbs")
Other than that, I am a pretentious bastard when it comes to classics, as I can afford nothing else. You get more cluck for your buck with classics.
Cats are the superior species. You can't get a cat to pull a sled through snow--case and point.
I am probably younger than many people on this forum. But not too young. My youth is a weapon--I will keep that weapon to myself.
I am seriously called Sunday.

Good answers,
Have you read Shut Your Mouth by Daniel Handler, I have it on my shelf for years. Th only other one of his I read was The Basic Eight andI really enjoyed it.
Is Cujo a good name for a cat?
The plus about my local book store is there is a Starbucks attached, take a book go to starbucks grab a cup of joe and read about 'Jack's' life

Cujo is an excellent name for a cat. Please, name it anything besides Fluffy.
He hasn't written many books--Daniel Handler, I mean--besides his Lemony Snickett works. Shut Your Mouth, The Basic Eight, and Adverbs are all of his, I believe. I dig Adverbs the most. It's raw magic.
Stinky pussy is the best cat name hands down
Stealing alwas make me smile, Good job!
P.S. Survivor is yor next favorite!
so far, invisible monsters has been the tops.
also, unless your under 14, i don't think you're the youngest around here
i don't think forums existed when i was 14. maybe NASA forums. spacemen, clearly, had the priority to 14 year olds.
this leads one to believe you're on the other end of the age spectrum. 45 perhaps?
I exaggerate about NASA. personally, my family didn't have internet when I was 14. Makes me slightly bitter.
I am twenty, sadly, a college student. It's almost a crime. The stigmata I receive for being 20.
Actually, now that I think about it, all ages have some sort of stigmata about them. Hm.
whats the big deal with 20?
Do you always make something out of nothing?
I'm 16, bitch.
kidding about the bitch part, it makes me feel tough.

Umm...stigma? Not physical wounds resembling those of Christ, but a generalized negative perception?
Hi Sunday. I've just been working out. I'm wearing a tight Superman t-shirt and the sweat is making it cling to my skin. Should I shower or should I take pictures and start a gay soft porn site?
thanks for sharing.blackhawk tactical pants.

well, you should take photos, but don't make the site.

If you take pictures of yourself taking a shower, you could start a gay hardcore porn site.

See, I just lied about lying so people would talk to me! I'm an attention whore.
I can't wait for next snow fall though. It's kinda my thing, you know?

Brentinlouis Wrote: What was that rule about being intentionally annoying?

OMG I think I'm in love again. And for the record, the only Chuck book I've read was Lullabye, and it was excellent. Loved it.

I thought that beard-thing went away.
It's creeping back

I'd tap that.
As for love, and being in love with Lullaby--I too enjoyed that novel. The concept of re-selling haunted homes was by far my favorite tidbit.

There's nothing wrong with my beard-thing.

I never knew you were skinny. Maybe you should be giving away less lobster and eating some yourself. Working out + protein (lobster) = bulk. Oh yeah, props on the thread-jack. Very well executed. :hijacked:
