I Just Don't Know What To Say...
...that will cause me to stand out in any way from anyone else here. That's part of my problem, as a writer suffering from a perpetual writer's block. I stumbled upon this site late one night at work after devouring "Fight Club". I decided to join the forums yesterday.
I am considering joining the Writers Workshop-perhaps it will help to break open whatever is inside. I feel the itch to write stronger than ever.
I am Poofball. This is a really old picture of me. I no longer have bangs.
Well she did say its an old picture so she may have traded her bangs for a poofball.
Welcome by the way. I'm not on the WS but I have heard good things about it. I'm sure Matty or brendon will chime in here sometime about it.
“The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
Hey you! What's your name? Welcome to The Cult!
Welcome. Poofball.
Yes, I want to play. I really, really do.
Join the workshop. Don't think about it, just do it. Best 40 bucks you'll ever spend and all you'll have to do is have one less latte a day for 10 days.
For serious.
... and welcome and all that.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
I saw in the book thread that you're reading A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again. Let me know what you think of it. Wallace is my favorite author. Have you read anything else by him?
There is hope, but not for us.
All right f*** it, I'm joining the workshop. Hope it's worth it. I need some serious feedback and peer editing; college writing courses have all been crap and the few readers/writers I've met do not know any work beyond the scope of JK Rowling and Stephen King (no offense to Rowling and King fans).
I'm not an actual Poofball but it's such a fun word to say.
Thank you for the welcomes; I've been enjoying it so far.
This is my first Wallace piece. I've always wanted to read his work but am now just getting around to it. I've just started it (just finished the first essay, derivative sport in tornado alley) but wow...what a masterpiece so far. This book seems to be composed primarily of essays, I look forward to his fiction.

you don't look like a poofball
