Hello everybody,
Quick introduction:
First off, my name is Danny and I'm 26. I now live in Dusseldorf (Germany), but am originally from San Diego, CA. I'm married (my wife is German) and I've been living out of the US for about 2 years. I went to SDSU and have a BA in Arts (painting)and currently do nothing in that field ;)I'm working your typical 9-5 desk post at the moment. I also play a few instruments and am currently in a band.
Ok, with that out of the way: The idea to write something hit me about 6 months ago. I was working on a larger scale painting project which revolved around the idea of a chronicle. This idea came about after reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Anywho...I've always written on the side (subplots for paintings, song lyrics, a little bit of poetry) and got to thinking I'd like to explore story telling through a detailed written account. Hence the idea for starting a novel project. I currently have my story outlined and have begun a first draft.
Needless to say I also enjoy Chuck's books and that has led me here. But, as I do not know any writers, I was happy to find this "cult" where other writers are sharing ideas and information. I figured this is as good a place as any to dive in. So, I hope to get to know some of you and hope that we can develop our writing, and writing projects, together.

Hey DRF, nice to make your acquaintance. You're a painter? That's awesome. I paint here and there but mostly produce crap. My Mom got a BA and art and she doesn't do anything with here's either, so don't feel bad.

that's a wonderful idea. i do freelance photography and some design projects as well, and i write on the side. i've never through to write out a good detailed backstory plot for a personal work in progress.

Thanks for the kind words...I uploaded the beginnings of a short story... hope to get some comments on that... it needs work, but the idea is starting to form.
