Hello there,
It took me some time to finally go about joining The Cult. I've been on a lot of forums, some were pretty good, but most were pretty awful. I've never been on a writers' forum before. I'm hoping this will help me out, because I've been stuck in a writer's block for quite some time.
I live in Canada and I've been writing since the third grade. During my brief stint in university, I was in a creative writing class. I learned a lot, but now I find that I'm just far too critical of my own work.
I'm hoping that I can learn new things here, and most importantly, make some writer friends.

you seem interesting. youve definitely come to the right place.
sorry to hear of your writer's block. sometimes it's just a matter of freewriting bullshite nothings for a while. eventually, your "you" will come out. no matter how freeminded you play or stave the desire to do "you" work, you will always come out. (if that makes sense. if not, i can draw it in a very different though just as muddled way.)
i just friended you, so if you every submit a story to the workshop, i'll get an e-notice about it. hope you have fun and find what youre looking for. feel free to ask any questions-

Thanks guys, I'm charmed by your good nature.
Currently I am working on a piece; not sure exactly where I'm going to go with it yet, but I've still got to read some more stories before I can submit. I honestly don't read enough, so reading stuff from other people in the same spot as myself is nothing but a great experience. I love it.
And Barca Boy, I've already read one of Chuck's essays and I already feel as though the forty bucks I spent on this workshop is entirely worth it. There's something about Chuck's advice that claws into me unlike any other. His tips just motivate me to open a blank document and write. I should have joined this site as soon as I became a university drop-out. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.

I'm overly critical of my work, too, which is why I never post anything here. Hopefully you won't have that problem, though.
