Hola Everyone.
Name's Shawn Oliver (22) from Puerto Rico.
I study accounting and already have a bachellor's degree on culinary arts, currently my goals are to start my own bussiness, and heck maybe even write a book about it someday.
My nickname's Mike Danger because I used to be a wrestler, and that was my gimmick name and it kinda sticked around even after I retired. I retired cause of back problems and wanted to focus on a serious career.
I'm a comic book reader since I was young, but i've become a little pissed at what most of them are doing lately. I still read TMNT and Walking Dead though but the rest i'm gonna give them the cold sholder for a while.
I'm also into videogames but i'm not getting into that unless i'm asked.
The first novel I read was I am Legend. My second and first C. Palahniuk book was Fight Club.
I guess after 6-7 novels in my interests are in action-adventure, horror genres. I tried fantasy fiction.... couldn't get into it.
So yeah, I would like to get to know you guys better and share recommendations, life experiences, stories, laughs, etc.
Hit me with your best shot.
Hey Shawn.
You seem interesting. Stick around.
Welcome.
Hello pepper, yeah I like my name it's one that's not too common and hard to forget.
I was a pro wrestler like the ones on TV, it was kind of like my very own Fight Club because like magicians we cannot talk about it if it's real or fake,or how we do the tricks. Won a few belts here and there in Puerto Rico, but I didn't get well known.
I do know how to do Greco Roman style wrestling since we also trained in that way sometimes. Never competed in a tournament though.
The cover I got for I am Legend it's actually the one with the hoard of vampires on it. I didn't think of Will Smith cause I didn't see the movie. I heard it wasn't as good anyways. I liked the book very much, I wouldn't recommend it as a first read for people who want to get into novel reading, but anyone who likes the survival horror genre can't go wrong with it. Those short stories were really good though. I liked Mad House very much.
Well as for my favorite sammich, I'm a meatball sub kind of guy. I could dance like a monkey for one.
Thanks for the welcome
Thanks Rosiemoonjumer (hope I got that right)
I think there's enough fun in this site to last a good while.
Hey Shawn Oliver! Welcome. What kind of music and movies do you like?
Have you ever wrestled a lobster?
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
Hello.
Is Cujo a good name for a cat?
Did you know Carlito Caribbean Cool?
Hit me with your best shot. :)
Fire away.

Cujo is an excellent name that will bring many conversations with guests that will go to your house.
@Ritt
I've met him a couple of times,I mostly know his brother Eddy who's AKA in WWE is Primo.
Hello Mike #2, I'm Jessica #1 and I think you seem okay.
I may possibly go to Puerto Rico later this year. I've never been there before.
Where should I go? Who should I see? What should I put in my mouth for eating?

Every post has a quote button (bottom-right), which makes your post easier to read if you're replying to someone.
Who listens to the radio to hear good music anyway?
Agreed. Cassette tapes are much better than radio. Mixxed cassette tape exchange!! Who's in?
Hello Mike! Nice to me ya.
Hello Mike! Nice to me ya.
While I still have a good handful or two of tapes I've never brought myself to let go of, I have no idea where, aside from scouring thrift stores, I would find a cassette player.
Let alone blank tapes.
I think they quite making reel to reel tapes altogether in America over a decade ago.
And I doubt anyone would want a mix of what I have available in terms of those tapes I never let go of, serious doubt.
Hello Mike! Nice to me ya.
Alo newgirl!
I'm a CD kind of dude myself. I had friends that drew some cool stuff on their mixes with sharpies and acrilyc paint.
Plus my car doesn't have a cassette player
I was half kidding. Tapes would be fun, but...
Everyone would have to scour the world for old cassette decks, to make this happen.
CD is great idea. And especially like the drawing idea.
I still have cassettes and a cassette player. I don't use them, but they're there. And I'm 70% there must be a blank one somewhere in the house, back from the days I had no computer and recorded all my music from friends' CDs.
Those we're simpler times.... i'd give anything to live in those days again.

I was spammed? Cool I guess.
I have these awesome blank CD's that look like vinyl records. I was going to use them for band stuff, but I do love making a good mixtape. However, I'm not sure how agreeable my music tastes are anymore. Then again, this might be a good way to find out.
Neato. What kind of music do you guys create?
Everyone here is pretty diverse. We all have different tastes and favorite genres. But, I think everyone here likes to learn about different things, including music. That's why I think a music exchange would work. Or maybe I'm pushing this idea too much.
And we all like souvenirs from each other.
Dang it! I just checked, and The Souvenirs is already a band name. Danish group. haha, oh well. I've already got a band name, in case it ever happens.
Even if I didn't like it, i'm pretty sure it can't be as bad as the crap they're selling to us as music on the radio. I swear if I hear another Skrillex song i'm gonna drill my eardrums deaf.
Where should I go? Who should I see? What should I put in my mouth for eating?
Summer is right around the corner and I don't feel like googling things! It's vital you answer this! Please!
If I win the lotto. I'm meeting you in Puerto Rico. And we'll have conch soup. I think they make that. If not, then this...
Just goggled that. yw
Beans + Rice = Food

Write all this down and ask the tour guide for the perfect Puertorrican vacation:
Go to old San Juan check out "El Morro" at old San Juan, perfect historical place, the best in PR.
If you're a party person Hotel San Juan at night has some really fun and safe parties.
If you're a drinker go to casa Bacardi where they give away 2 free drinks and you tour around the factory. That's my favorite place to take my friends on tour. It's on Catano (Ca-tan-joe)
To eat I say go to Pinones (pronunciated pin-joe-nes) and eat an "alcapurria", you can't leave PR without tasting one!
And I always recommend this one (my favorite) go to el Yunque, it's the tallest mountain in PR, there you will see a lot of typical puertorrican plants and birds you wont see anywhere else.
And of course come to the beach!
FOOD:
You must eat Mofongo! Mofongo is the #1 typical Puertorrican food. I myself love stuffed mofongo, but taste regular mofongo
first.
I know this sounds crazy, but eat the chinese food round here, the fried rice is the best in the whole world, I kid you not. It's like regular chinese food mixed with Caribbean food, but not even in Dominican Republic have I tasted the same chinese awesomeness.
Of course the alcapurria. there's 2 kinds beef and crab.
And for a breakfast eat a Cubano sandwich, it's actually Cuban instead of Puertorrican but it's the best sandwich in the world.
of course I left out rice and beans because everyone in the god dang island is going to recommend you rice and beans with porkchops and tostones. But I actually recommended food that we puertorricans love to eat, not the tourists jajaja.
I actually live pretty close to the airport so if you have difficulty finding some place(s) I can lend a helpful hand.
-Cheers
Thank you! That was quite informative.
Hey no problem. Hope you'll love it here.

Hello Shawn Oliver! I really like your name, it is a pretty good name. Your nick name isn't half bad either.
Being a former wrestler is interesting. What sort of wrestling do you mean? Greco roman sort or the... other... sort... that comes with nicknames? lol
Either way that I find that interesting, though I prefer the former.
When I read I Am Legend for the first time the copy I had had a picture of Will Smith on the cover and it really messed with my head as the character was clearly of Germanic decent. Also, the second thing that happened when I read that book was, the copy I had, the second half of the book was filled with short stories by Richard Matheson, yet it did not alert the reader to this in the index, nor on the cover or back of the book. So I Am Legend finished and I didn't realise it, I was two and a half short stories past the end of the novel before I realise those stories were not chapters. To be honest I was rather confused, trying to figure out how the author was going to tie these new extreme differentiating plot twists into the story as a whole... then it dawned on me and I both laughed, but also felt a bit jipped over the deal as I completely missed the pinnacle of the story as well as the satisfaction of the last line.
Anyway.
Welcome.
What sort of sammich would you like?
