I'm not a big fan of Augusten Burroughs but I have read his Running with Scissors. I had trouble with how he turned his life into this comedy when really horrible things were happening to him. I guess that's his style.

It is sort of a joke here that sometimes new people come along and freak out about it, there used to be a really long topic that would get bumped by new people every few months titled "Chuck GAY!!!???" wherein either the new person would post some long thing about how they are perfectly Okay with that, or how it really means the world to them, or how they can't stomach his books knowing something like that and how dare anyone make such an accusation et cetera.
The title got deleted by a mod at some point, or locked so it couldn't be posted in or anything.
We all just pretend we are shocked when someone new mentions it, as an old joke.

Yep!! I remember about the feet hurting and burning and that above... I had an oooold anime version of Little Mermaid, it was extremely creepy. I don't think you ever did see the Sea Witch but maybe where she lived and crap.. It was very weird.
