Just joined the Cult in order to find whatever i have in this mind at that moment. But as a junior in American Culture & Literature Department in Hacettepe University (Ankara/Turkey), i'd love to get some help about current american literature. I also actually want to follow some current good literary magazines in the usa via their websites if possible because im sure it'll be damn difficult to subscribe'em or get them in turkey due to some ridiculous order of economy, politics and other unknown stuff around in the world.

I talked too much for now.

You haven't talked nearly enough. Welcome and just thought I should mention how your shirt and tie are making me dizzy.

Does Turkey have internet censorship?

Hi. Well, the actual government in turkey is rightist and islamist -not radical and extreme as much as they were in the past though. Palahniuk and Burrough's some books got banned and the translators of these books also were sued. The reason for the cases - they say - is that the aforesaid books contain 'immoral' words and they promote readers an inconvenient life.

They will ban all websites containing forbidden words after 22nd August. Thats how things work in Turkey todays.

Wow, that sucks that they're cracking down like that in Turkey. I just figured out how to beat a newspaper paywall with a proxy, I'm wondering the potential for that to beat totalitarian states and IPs. As the technology gets better, the state will come to lose its ability to censor.

You said well. There are -i guess- millons of hackers who describe themselves as anarchist or oppose-to-state individuals and work on some stuff like destroying the state institutions' websites and their control over other websites. Yet, they haven't been successful so far. I think it is because they also know that if all anarchist hackers get one-team and manage to destroy states on web, they will be forgottan shortly after they will be applauded and praised by groups of people in worldwide.
