Hey there beautiful people
Hey all,
It's been basically forever since I've joined a forum, so i'm a little rusty about what goes into an intro post. I'll just kind of ramble and stop when it looks too long.
So im Dave, uk born and raised, am leaving in about 48 hours to spend three months living on a beach in California. As a foreigner that sounds a lot more romantic in my head. And I'm basically going to pound laptop keyboards and paper to try to build a portfolio for a masters in creative writing starting just over a year away. I'm 21, incidentally. Hence the buckets of optimism about this being possible.
I study philosophy and am always ready to grapple anyone who tries to Wade into the theism atheism debate, or maybe just talk the important questions like whether time is real or not. I also love reading pretty much anything that gets someones juicy and talkative, so throw me a title and I'll try and get through it.
Only got a few pieces of really salad-days-feeling stuff at http://davemcleod.wordpress.com if anyone feels like looking it at. I'll be sharing some of my stuff somewhere unobtrusive here, and will keep links and quotes in my sig. For now I look forward to chatting with you all around here, and following your discussions while I'm in the middle of a strange country with no contacts and a lot of creativity to discharge!
